Contra Costa County Sheriff’s deputies declared an unlawful assembly Tuesday afternoon after more than 100 union members and supporters blocked entrances to the C&H Sugar refinery in Crockett during an ongoing labor dispute. At least two protesters were arrested after deputies moved in with batons and tear gas to clear the area. The demonstration followed reports that C&H brought in temporary workers to unload sugar from a cargo ship that has remained idle since ILWU Local 6 warehouse workers went on strike in June. Members of ILWU Local 10, who have honored the picket line in support of Local 6, joined the protest, blocking truck access and backing up traffic near the refinery. C&H said it has obtained a temporary restraining order against ILWU Locals 6 and 10 to stop the blockade and alleged that contractors working with the company have had truck tires slashed and brake lines cut. Contract negotiations between C&H and Local 6 remain ongoing.

Methinks it is more that the inmates think that they are running the asylum and they just found out! My dad used to be a chemical engineer what was then Tosco/Avon refinery and I remember when the workers went on strike back in the late 70’s. It was insane and they were monsters, my mom was getting threats at night with 2 small children plus they slashed his tires and cut his brake line. They had to helicopter the management team becuase of the vilolence and threats. Workers like that need to find the unemployment line and jail ASAP that is just straight BS!

(ILWU) Local 10 longshore workers. The workers have reportedly walked off the
job at the port in support of ILWU Local 6 warehouse employees at the C&H Sugar
(Levin Richmond Terminal) facility in Richmond, California.

The Local 6 workers have been on strike since June 15, 2026, over ongoing contract
renewal negotiations. The solidarity action has disrupted cargo operations in Richmond
and resulted in the closure of all container marine terminals at the Port of Oakland.”

Unwise to mess with ILWU
Fire them all and replace with those that want to work and earn money. Unions are corrupt garbage and are no longer needed in this day and age. Just look at their donations and follow the money.
