A driver was arrested by the California Highway Patrol after allegedly recording a blood alcohol concentration of 0.370%—a level considered extremely dangerous and more than four times California’s legal limit of 0.08%. The arrest came after vigilant members of the public called 911 to report a suspected impaired driver who was putting others on the road at risk. CHP officers quickly located the vehicle, conducted a DUI investigation, and arrested the driver on suspicion of driving under the influence. A blood alcohol concentration of 0.370% can cause severe impairment, including confusion, loss of coordination, slowed breathing, unconsciousness, and, in some cases, can be life-threatening. While alcohol affects everyone differently depending on factors such as tolerance, body size, and drinking history, medical experts consider a BAC at this level to carry a significant risk of alcohol poisoning. CHP credited the public for helping prevent what could have been a tragic outcome. “If you see someone you believe is driving under the influence, don’t hesitate to call 911,” the agency said. “Your calls save lives.”

That’s a good question, but my guess would be he’s struggling with alcoholism and he’s built up a tolerance. Thank goodness nobody was hurt.
