Contra Costa County will hold its annual TRUTH Act Community Forum on Tuesday, Aug. 25, during the Board of Supervisors meeting in Martinez. The forum, scheduled for 10 a.m., will include a presentation from the Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office on its 2025 responses to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) requests for notification involving people in custody who are considered serious or violent offenders, as required under California law. The annual forum has been held since 2017 to comply with California’s Transparent Review of Unjust Transfers and Holds (TRUTH) Act, which requires local jurisdictions to publicly report certain interactions with federal immigration authorities and provide an opportunity for community discussion. The meeting will be held at 1025 Escobar St. in Martinez and can also be viewed live on the county’s website and on Contra Costa Television (CCTV).
