The latest official timeline from the City of Walnut Creek says the new Aquatic and Community Center at Heather Farm Park should open by the end of 2027.
There is a little wiggle room, though. A recent city bid document describes completion as “late 2027 or early 2028.”
Construction is well underway: demolition of the old Community Center began in February 2026. The new aquatic facility will include a 50-meter competition pool with 9 long-course/18 short-course lanes and a 25-meter recreation pool with beach entry and play features.
Funny how they always leave out the $77M price tag AND it’s also for new city staff offices not just a pool remodel ….
