Not sure but I noticed a new one in the concord Home depot parking lot as well as one on Diamond just before you reach Golden state lumber. I don’t believe the cover story entirely as “just license plate readers for safety”. I believe it is as well a marketing tool for buying trends as well as possible data for insurance company’s to purchase “or whomever can potentially profit from this”. Not worried about the legal aspects as the all they will see of me is some dummy yelling at the inside of the windshield.

I understand that Lowe’s and Kaiser are also using Flock cameras just like Home Depot. It’s believed that Flock is signing up more businesses as cities, counties, and other government entities are canceling or not renewing their contracts with Flock.

Are they helpful? Yes. but to us citizen.NO
i really don’t care for them if its invasion of privacy i guess but its the public so privacy doesn’t exist in public. people will say they hate them because it reports them its simple dont commit the crime duh

You don’t have to do a crime. Flock claims that their camera systems have a 93% success rate at reading license plates, which means their success rate is probably lower.
We are becoming more like China and CCP every day. Yes, these cameras do help to solve a few crimes, but they invasion of our personal privacy is at risk. Although we are led to believe that the sole purpose is to prevent crime, future political representatives will gradually adopt the policies of the CCP (Chinese Communist Party) and will be sending you and your children to “Re-education Camps” so you can learn how to properly live under the watchful eye (re: Flock Camera”) of the local, state and federal government.

In some cases they haven’t made a difference in crime rates.
All is fine and good until AI identifies You as the suspect and Popo & SWAT show up to your house 100% confident that You are their man! Or when your receive a citation by mail for running a red light or some other infraction that either FLOCK or whatever cameras they have accuse you of. Good luck fighting that over the phone with a AI bot.
Why not, if your vehicle is stolen license plate reader cameras gives Police a better
chance of recovering it. Also an advantage in apprehending criminals after a crime,
if someone reports a plate number.

As to privacy, give it a rest, that ship sailed many years ago.
if you go to a large chain store there is a better than even chance you are on camera
and watched from time you exit your vehicle, all thru isles in store. What you stopped
to look at and at checkout what you purchased is added to their database for later
sale to information brokers.

An by the way they’re also using facial recognition. Ever wonder why what you
picked up and looked at shows up later in ads on your web browser or cell
phone ? ? ?

Rule of thumb, if you are not in your residence then there is a very good chance
video cameras are watching and possibly recording you.
Should always assume they are and just be on your best behavior. 😁

There’s a huge difference between government contracted cameras and business cameras. As a resident of California, you can contact a business to find out what they’ve collected on you, and they’re required to turn over the information to the consumer, and you can have them delete a portion or all of the information that they’ve collected on you.

I haven’t yet experienced the issue with ads.

Good idea – but can be used for more than intended purposes and sold to others that would use the data that we never approved – so no. Too much room for abuse.

There’s no guarantee that Flock cameras make us safer. I’ll take the crime rather than being “searched” by Flock and being forced to accept the government surveillance state. If you live in a free society then sometimes bad things happen.
I think they’re great for busting criminals like smash n grabbers, murderers,etc. They can also be easily abused by insurance, marketers, and the vendors in control have a tendency to exploit the data. Not to mention crooked ass law enforcement, stalkers, etc.
I’m all for license plate readers when they help with tracking down stolen cars are thief suspects.
i see so many people saying my privacy my privacy as we all walk around with a tracking beacon (cell phone) in our pockets everywhere we go. I’m sure our phones give away way more privacy than license plate readers.
I hate Flock cameras!!! They need to go away!!! They were sold as license plate readers, but the identify and collect much more than just license plates.
