Driving on a non-toll road as we paid for them – toll roads are just gouging us taxpayers to pad politicos pet projects

For myself, I would add driving on a non-toll road in a gasoline-powered automobile with me behind the wheel.

Harley-Davidson. However, I no longer ride in California. Ever since the
invention of the cell phone, there are too many distracted drivers.
Hey Dawg: I rode 1,000’s of miles on 2 wheels (Mostly Harleys) but could not push it around or pick them up any more after I turned 70. SO,,,,,,, Now I love my CAN AM-RT 3-wheel cycle. It’s got a 6-speed automatic transmission with a REVERSE!! , also a huge front trunk and big side saddlebags. Still getting wind in my face and great view of my surroundings! Also 115 hp 3-clyinder motor. Still having fun!!
Sounds cool…. two wheels up front & one in the rear.
I see people on those a lot….always a smile so it must be fun.
I came very close to pulling the switch on a Polaris Slingshot. However the drivers in our area only pay minimal attention to driving. Too dangerous around here.
But out on a country road either one would be great.

Driving unless it’s long distance and then via plane. I’m getting too old to do long distance driving trips to visit places and friends.
A small, nimble car with a manual transmission on a good twisty road, or a decently handling car on a scenic and somewhat twisty road.
Some favorites: CA 1, CA 128 between Cloverdale and CA 1, CA 108 over Sonora Pass, SS45 along the eastern shore of Lake Garda in Italy, almost any road through the Dolomites in Italy, especially SS51 that passes through Cortina d’Ampezzo (the site of the recent Winter Olympics), the drive between Innsbruck Austria and Grindelwald Switzerland or almost any drive through the Swiss Alps, I70 in Colorado up the western slope of the Rockies, the Icefields Parkway between Banff and Jasper, Alberta Canada, the most beautiful regular highway is Canada 1 (the trans-Canada highway), Canada 97 through the Okanagan in British Columbia, the Going to the Sun road through Glacier National Park, Val d’Orcia in Tuscany Italy, the Atlantic Ocean Road in Norway, the road to Hana in Maui and several others that I haven’t had the chance to explore yet. Two that are on my list are U.S. 1 on the coast of Maine between Bar Harbor and the Canadian border (“the Big Sur of Maine”) and NH 112, the Kancamagus Highway in New Hampshire.

In the US or at least in California my Toyota Camry, years ago when I had a BMW 528e 1982, which I had for about 11 years. Drove it on the autobahn in Germany (we picked up the car at the factory in Munich) lot’s of fun, very fast. In Europe trains, also like the trains on the East Coast, took the train from NYC to Boston.
