U.S. Steel steel plant in Pittsburg, area took a large tax revenue hit when county, state and unelected green minions used plant as their own private deep pocketed ATM. . Any business has to have a business plans, and in order to do so there needs to be, regulatory certainty and political stability. . This county and state have had neither for decades.

Scott’s Seafood Restaurant in WC …. great food & service …. owner elected to keep the one in Oakland for some strange reason close the restaurant in WC – WC restaurant was always busy and they had packed Sunday Brunches, weddings, office parties, etc. etc. and free validated parking underneath the building – literally 10 ft from the restaurant… nothing else has come close.

Only one? I can think of several, but I’ll go with Mervyn’s.
Walker Brothers Sporting Goods, they were behind Wienerschnitzel on Clayton Rd.
And Hogan’s Sporting Goods, but they were in P.H.
The outdoorsmen and women in this dump of a coffeehouse town need a real family owned sporting goods store in Concord once again. ¡¡¡Concord city council sucks!!!
I miss Fry’s too. Nice to have parts available for repairs near-by. Now I order online then have to remember how it goes back together when it arrives.

And computer land i think that’s what it was called flying Microsoft’s flight simulator on the original PC. It was great as a kid to have all those adults standing by watching me do it but hardly any of them wanted to try themselves.
Thunderdawg,
If I remember correctly, the Willows used to have a couple of Whole Earth stores, one for general merchandise, and one for computers. I seem to remember their computer store being overpriced and mostly Mac-centric.
