Burglars, Drunk Drivers And Drug Dealers Keep Concord Police Busy During Crime-Filled Week

Concord police arrested dozens of people between July 22 and July 28 on charges ranging from burglary and drug sales to domestic violence, DUI and probation violations, according to the department’s latest weekly arrest report. Among the most serious cases, officers arrested a 32-year-old man on Pine Street on suspicion of possessing narcotics for sale, possessing a controlled substance for sale and violating felony probation. Another case led to the arrests of two suspects at a rental storage facility on Kirker Pass Road in connection with a burglary, with both also facing additional charges that included resisting officers, felony probation violations and repeat theft offenses.

Police also made multiple DUI arrests during the week, including arrests for driving under the influence of alcohol and a separate case involving alleged combined alcohol and drug impairment. Domestic violence arrests included felony allegations of inflicting corporal injury on a spouse or dating partner, as well as an arrest for violating a domestic violence restraining order. Drug-related arrests remained common, with suspects booked on charges including possession of controlled substances, possession of drug paraphernalia and being under the influence of controlled substances. The department’s burglary report showed seven felony burglaries reported during the same period, including break-ins at multiple rental storage units on Kirker Pass Road, a single-family home on Cherokee Drive, a residence on Monument Boulevard, a yard on Challenge Drive and two shoplifting incidents at businesses on Monument Boulevard.
