An 18-year-old woman was injured in a shooting outside a shopping center in Antioch over the weekend, with investigators believing she was struck by gunfire intended for someone else, police said. Officers responded at 10:36 p.m. Sunday to reports of gunfire near Sycamore Drive and Peppertree Way, where they found 26 spent shell casings in the roadway, according to the Antioch Police Department. During the investigation, officers learned the woman had been shot and was being treated at a nearby hospital. Police said their preliminary investigation found the woman had just left a business in the Sycamore Square shopping center when the shooting occurred. Investigators believe she was not the intended target but was still struck by gunfire. The woman was treated for injuries and has since been released from the hospital, police said. Anyone with information about the shooting can contact the Antioch Police Department at 925-779-6900.

That’s “The Spot” Liquor/convenience store I was referring to in the Sycamore Square where the shooting happened, not to be confused with The Spot Bar & Grill on A St.

Formerly “The Spot” now it’s just Antioch Liquors

26 shots and only one person “treated” at local hospital and not the intended target???? what a bunch of re!@rds.

And the wounded person was just a bystander.
Poor marksmanship.

Wait a dang minute, 11 March opening ceremony for Sycamore Substation,
little slice of heaven (antioch politics) Watch if you are really bored.
.
There’s a pan tilt zoom cctv camera at corner of L street and Sycamore.
Couple of cameras on pole directly opposite driveway into shopping
center. At swimming pool, Peppertree Way, opposite driveway another
pan tilt zoom camera. Below camera appear to be two Flock license
plate reading cameras. Lemon Tree Way and Sycamore, looks to be
another PTZ camera. Given all the cameras and speeches given by
“public servants”, maybe . . . . . . . . 50/50 they’ll solve it.

Nice to see California’s strict gun laws are working well. No doubt the gun is registered and the owner has insurance.

Probably depends on the number of shooters involved or if anyone reloaded to fire 26 shots.
Maximum legal magazine capacity in CA. is 10 rounds, so if nobody reloaded there had to be at least 3 California legal magazines involved or 1 or 2 illegal magazines involved and no mention of what type of weapon was used or how many shooters ….. so it could have been 26 blind men firing one shot each.
No point in speculating there’s just not enough info.

My theory is it’s the drunk piano player Doc Holiday . . . “I have two guns, one for each of ya”…
