Monument Crisis Center Pickup Truck Recovered, But Damage Assessment Underway

The Monument Crisis Center has recovered its stolen Ford F-350 pickup truck after it was returned by the Concord Police Department on Wednesday afternoon. The nonprofit said the truck sustained structural and other damage while it was missing. The vehicle will now be inspected by its insurance company to determine whether it can be repaired. Despite the setback, Monument Crisis Center said its weekly food distribution in Pittsburg will move forward as planned. The organization has rented an electric cargo van to ensure deliveries continue without interruption. The food distribution is scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 6, from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. at Community Presbyterian Church, 200 E. Leland Road in Pittsburg. The nonprofit also thanked the community for the outpouring of support following the theft, saying the generous donations and encouraging messages have helped lift the spirits of staff and volunteers during a difficult time.
