Concord Police made a number of arrests on suspicion of crimes including arson, felony hit-and-run, assault with a deadly weapon, domestic violence and drug offenses between July 29 and Aug. 4, according to the department’s latest arrest report.
Among the arrests, a 55-year-old man was arrested Aug. 2 on suspicion of felony arson involving property in the 2700 block of Parkside Circle. Earlier that morning, a 27-year-old man was arrested on East Olivera Road on suspicion of several offenses, including possessing a narcotic controlled substance, annoying or molesting a person under 18 and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. On Aug. 1, police arrested a 20-year-old woman in the 4700 block of Clayton Road on suspicion of DUI causing bodily injury, driving without a license and felony hit-and-run resulting in injury or death. A 50-year-old man was also arrested that day on suspicion of DUI, controlled substance possession and driving without a license. Another notable arrest occurred July 31 near Concord and Commerce avenues, where a 38-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, exhibiting a deadly weapon, making criminal threats, petty theft, drug possession and violating felony probation. Police also reported several domestic violence-related arrests during the week, along with arrests involving warrants, probation violations, drug possession, resisting officers, vandalism and trespassing.
Separately, Concord Police reported six burglary or shoplifting incidents during the same seven-day period. Five were classified as misdemeanor shoplifting cases, while one was a felony burglary reported at a convenience store at 2150 Solano Way early Aug. 4. No burglaries were reported Aug. 2 or Aug. 3.
