I’ve noticed that the days are getting noticably shorter.
The weather the last few days here looks more like an early fall than summer. I think the seasons are now screwed up.

Those with 1 1/2″ galvanized nipple connecting sink drains to sanitary TEE fitting
in the wall, be prepared for Galvanic Corrosion.

Grabbed nipple with channel locks and with very little effort, pops out of the wall.
Half the fitting was eaten away under kitchen sink and rusty corroded steel was
stuck in threads of TEE. An 1 1/2″ pipe tap wouldn’t catch a thread.

Had used dental picks, thin wood chisel and half a dozen other things and choice
cuss words. Six hours later remembered, years ago watching an experienced
machinist use a hand held engraver to tease out broken bolts. Another time
used an engraver with 1/8′ burr tip chasing some threads.

Using 1/8′ burr tip and in less than 10 minutes threads were clean enough for
pipe tap to purchase and chase the threads.

Ordered Schedule 80 PVC 1 1/2″ x 3″ nipple.
Ordered enough to do all the sinks in the house.
Planning to do one a day.
Of one thing I am sure of, getting too old and doin’ stuff takes longer . . . .
I just saw a PG&E commercial on TV.
They claimed they’ve lowered their rates 5 times.
I looked it up and don’t see it.

Power costThe reduction is driven primarily by savings on how much it costs to generate electricity due to dips in the price of natural gas.
Price trendPG&E customers pay more than twice the national average rate for electricity, but rates across the country are ticking up.
About two-thirds of PG&E customers use the company’s network of distribution and transmission lines, but do not buy their electricity directly from PG&E. These customers will not receive the 5% rate cut.
