A driver was pulled over by the California Highway Patrol after allegedly traveling more than twice the posted speed limit. According to the CHP, the driver was clocked at 116 mph in a 55 mph zone, putting the vehicle 61 mph over the speed limit. The CHP is reminding motorists that excessive speed dramatically reduces reaction time and increases the severity of crashes. Drivers are urged to slow down and obey posted speed limits.
I hope the person was arrested and the car towed.

61 miles per hour over the speed limit is clear wanton disregard for human life and peak entitlement. A driver’s license is a privilege not a right so to get this back under control they need to re-institute the elevator clause…which is for every mile over the speed limit the ticket escalates accordingly. For situations of this nature a suspenion for a minimum of 5 years should absolutely be the punishment. Make dumb selfish decisions and you should lose your privilege.

Motorcycles continually do this while going between lanes….No, I don’t agree with the behavior just wish there were more motorcycles cops or some way to stop them too.
