None of that is likely to matter in the upcoming 2026 California gubernatorial general election. California voters simply won’t elect a Republican to a statewide office. The 2026 California primary election results showed us that the general election is over and that Xavier Becerra will be our next governor. It’s unfortunate, because better Democratic Party candidates were in the primary race.
Steve Hilton is an energetic campaigner and seems to be well funded. You might be surprised at the turnout for this mid term election and the results may even be more surprising. Xavier Becerra isn’t too interested in an aggressive campaign. The debates will be very telling.

This is California, where former Secretary Xavier Becerra doesn’t need to run an aggressive campaign, unlike Steve Hilton.

Don’t fool yourself, we were told that Steve Hilton and Riverside County Sheriff-Coroner Chad Bianco were going to be the two candidates for Governor of California in the general election. It wasn’t even close and Steve Hilton was less than 170,000 votes away from not making it into the general election. We were told that Spencer Pratt was going to be one of the two candidates for Mayor of Los Angeles in the general election, again, it wasn’t even close. It didn’t happen!!! California voters made it very clear with their primary votes, they don’t want any Republican near statewide elected office in 2026. It’s over!!!

California voters disagreed with you, as they chose to reelect Governor Edmund Gerald “Jerry” Brown to a 4th term as Governor of California by 19.94% over Neel Kashkari.

I don’t believe any candidate for Governor of California has the potential to be a “great governor,” if they were to win, whether they’re a Democrat or a Republican, they only have the potential to be better or worse than the last governor. The State of California has become too large and fragmented to be successfully governed and likely needs to be broken up into multiple states.
So California is in for a very bleak and blase future because general public did not seem to learn that communism did not work elsewhere in history.

I don’t believe the vast majority of California voters are voting overwhelmingly for Democrats based on anything having to do with socialism and/or communism, as much as it has to do with the fact that the vast majority of California voters just not trusting the Republicans running for statewide office, election cycle after election cycle. We can all see how California has been and is being governed and the list of problems that plague this state year after year, yet, the majority of California voters are just fine with the way things are being run because they view the Republicans as being worse than the Democrats.

I’ve posted here for 15 years that ballots shouldn’t state the political party or occupation of the candidates. Those changes would hopefully cause voters to make the effort to learn something about who they’re voting for.

I like to be “cautiously informed.” When such charges as made by yoyo are presented in front of me, I want to understand where they are coming from, to see if there is anything behind the accusations. In this case, as is typical, he just spewed out talking points charged by someone (or maybe he just drew those lines in his head). Once in a while, the dullards on the left make charges that actually are valid (a rarity, to be sure). A clue should be that he asked if I was serious or sarcastic, when the first line was everything he said was BS. Not sure how to assume that was sarcasm. It’s not at all odd that President Trump is still in office. He’s not going anywhere!!! Even if Democrats get control of one or both Houses of Congress as a result of the midterm elections, he may get impeached once or twice, but he won’t be convicted, and will remain in office.

I don’t believe USAID being moved to the State Department and grants being canceled, ActBlue being investigated by Congress, and the Southern Poverty Law Center being indicted by the Justice Department have anything to do with President Trump remaining in office. The issues with USAID are being fought out in the courts and the Congressional and Justice Department investigations into ActBlue and the SPLC should actually be helping them or similar organizations raise even more money.

It’s my understanding that some functions and funding of what was USAID still exist and continue within the State Department. I also believe that lawsuits are still in the courts having to do with the way the agency was shut down, employees, contractors, and the cancelation of approved grants, although I haven’t paid a lot of attention to the cases.

It’s been almost 50 years, so I don’t believe the creation of the stand alone Department of Education changed much of anything if its taken until now for socialist and communist candidates to gain traction in parts of the United States. “Education” already existed as a cabinet level Department since early in the first year of the Eisenhower Administration when the Department of Health, Education, and Welfare was created. Prior to that, “Education” existed as a federal government Agency, Bureau, and/or Office going back to early in the first year of the Grant Administration. The creation of the Department of Education and the Department of Health and Human Services was just a splitting of the Department of Health, Education, and Welfare.

I believe the rise in socialist and communist candidates has more to do with the fall of the Soviet Union and shipping so much of our manufacturing to China, so that we no longer have that constant reminder of communism in our minds everyday.
