I know that it is great to have advertisements to help defray the cost of operating the site.
Having said that, I want you to know just how annoying it is to try to chase the article I am trying to read all over the place until the ads decide where on screen they are going to end up.I will begin to read an article and suddenly the entire article will reposition while ads populate, sometimes 3 or 4 times. This is extremely annoying!! Is it possible that you might be able to alleviate this behavior? It’s one glitch in an otherwise terrific site. Thanx for all your efforts & staff as well.

salmon fishing opened for the first time in years and I like to fish at the stacks in pittsburg, its been about 10 years since i’ve been there and I cannot believe the amount of riffraff that is allowed to hangout in the parking lot. Sitting in cars drinking etc evenbefore noon. disappointing.
Used to see fishermen on Walnut Creek just upstream from Willow Pass Road in Concord. I hope to see them there, again. Not a fisherman myself – I just liked seeing them there.
They are poachers.

Subject: North Gate Road Residents Fear for Their Safety as County Puts Developer Profits Ahead of Public Safety

Outraged neighbors fear for their safety over the planned 19-Lot subdivision at 1125 Northgate Rd. (County File #CDSD24-09696) just outside the gates to Mt. Diablo State park and within a Cal Fire Very High Fire Hazard Severity Zone and sitting on the Concord fault.
1)The proposed 19-lot development sits at the base of Mt. Diablo State Park on North Gate Road, a narrow, two-lane road and the only ingress/egress. Adding 19 high-density homes significantly threatens evacuation capacity during wildfire or earthquake emergencies.
2)The site sits directly on the newly mapped Concord fault line and within a designated Seismic Hazard Zone. Approval relies on outdated building codes that ignore these hazards.
3)The developer’s brazen profiteering disguised as altruistic intent in order to trigger State Density Bonus Laws. The inclusion of three “very low income” homes” in order to trigger the State Density Bonus Law and justify 16 additional luxury market-rate homes (nearly three times the density allowed under the prior 2011 development plan).
4)Vesting plans reveal a “Vehicle Double Swing Gate” that physically segregates the 3 affordable housing units from the 16 market-rate luxury homes. Furthermore, the affordable units are clustered in the seismic hazard zone next to an equestrian facility (subjecting them to manure odor, rodents, flies) violating mandatory duties to Affirmatively Further Fair Housing (Gov. Code § 8899.50).
5) The proposal reduces lot sizes down to 3,500 sq. ft., violating the North Gate Specific Plan’s requirement of 40,000 sq. ft.
6)Developer plan Condition 51 includes a $550,000 “community benefit” that lacks transparency or allocation of funds. The community demands the county deny the plan as is, conduct a site-specific Environmental Impact Report (EIR) and fire evacuation study, full transparency of $550K, revert to the original plan of 8 homes.

Good luck!!! Unfortunately, your efforts are unlikely to make any difference. The only thing the Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors and our local city councils care about is forcing more housing, more people, and more traffic on us because they believe it’ll bring in more revenue.
Another rant on the same issue – hope others will as well ….. the dry grass & weeds right next to the roadway on YVR east of Oak Grove to the WC city limit sign is a fire hazard waiting to happen … I’ve submitted 3 requests / complaints to the city and 2 to CCC Fire … nothing has been done … CCC Fire even kept dragging their feet in ackowleging the issue by asking for an address of the weed / grass problem – it’s roadway! It’s open space area! There is no address! After about 3 back and forths I think they finally understand but who knows …. can’t tell by what’s been done – nothing. Does it take a fire to get ANY action from either of them?
…gotta ask – why the negative? … don’t think it’s a fire hazard? am I going to the wrong place{s} for resolution? thanks for the feedback
The traffic in Concord is ridiculous. Poor management and placement of roads is part of the problem. One way roads where your driving around blocks instead of driving straight to destination. Lanes being removed. Traffic lights not synchronized. Speed limits on certain patches of roads lowered creating congestion. Not to mention drivers not paying attention. No more homes in Concord until the traffic situation is elevated. It’s no longer easy to drive in Concord, it’s a nightmare.

Unfortunately, the residents of Concord are screwed when it comes to traffic due to housing and job population growth in the city. The answers from the Concord City Council have been consistent for 20 years, new residents to Concord won’t own or travel by car, they’ll only travel by walking, biking, busing, and BARTing, self-driving cars and smart traffic lights will save us from traffic and parking issues, we don’t have to worry about traffic because we’re going to have flying cars which will eliminate the traffic problem, and “WE KNOW THAT TRAFFIC IS GOING TO BE A PROBLEM AND YOU’RE JUST GOING TO HAVE TO LEARN TO DEAL WITH IT.”

Another day in Clayton as garbage company picks up and empties green
tote into truck. Well most of it made it into the truck, makes a mess on
the street and drives off. Comes up other side of street, mess can’t be
missed, scattered next to the now empty tote, and drives on.
Hmm, must be an incentive system for drivers ? ? ?

Learned allot from watching videos by these two gentlemen, now passed on.
Grew up without a Grandpa, makes these gentlemen special, that they would take the time
