A fire behind Lexus of Concord on Market St. in has been extinguished. The blaze came close to the dealership, but no damage was reported. The fire started at about 11am on Saturday. This is just one of the dozens of fires that have been extinguished in the area in recent months. Most of the fires have started in or near homeless encampments along highway 242.

CALTRANS working with CORE and the City of Concord really need to keep the dang homeless out of that area. Concord can’t afford to have dealerships leaving and taking their tax revenue with them. Ford almost left when the homeless burned 3 of their trucks 4 or 5 years ago on CalTrans property. These continued fires need to stop.

We’ve got to really get tough on these homeless. We keep hearing all the SOB stories and sympathies about mental health, hesn famines, sad childhood, etc etc ..when in fact 95% of them are able-bodied youngish men who just like drugs and being lazy.
Give them a choice to work as ditch diggers, custodians, window washers, laborers, or send them into the Nevada desert get them the hell out of here. I will no longer give them a penny as it just enables them to continue to mooch, helping no one including themselves.
