There were so many great shows in the 1960s on television. My favorites will vary week to week. Right now, believe it or not I’ve been watching old episodes of The Real McCoys and really enjoying them!

Surprised they didn’t show where they caught some politician
When I was younger it was Leave it to Beaver. Mostly because
I could identify with the teenagers in the show. Except we used
slightly stronger words than gosh, and golly. Presently, I don’t
have an all-time favorite show because I don’t watch a lot of TV
anymore.
Leave it to Beaver trivia: The show was a success because the
writers based it on the real life misadventures of their own children.
The writers also used their children’s friends as the show’s characters,
and added much of their adolescent logic and slang to add authenticity.
Best show ever…. I Love Luy comes in second….. Gone are the lightheaarted days.
X-files followed closely by Frasier/Cheers

Seinfeld! Magnum P.I.(the real one) Rockford Files and Columbo always good. And of course I can’t leave out The Flintstones and The Munsters.

I believe that the Flintstones was the first prime-time cartoon, and it was definitely intended for adults.
It was and inspired by The Honeymooners, another great show.

Utopia. The BBC produced 2013 sci-fi series that actually laid out the roadmap to what was about to happen to us. It was about a false pandemic called “the Russian Flu” so a pharmaceutical company could make lots of money off a vaccine. It was excellently written and produced with beautiful cinematography. There were three seasons planned but only 2 produced despite of it’s immense popularity.

HBO bought the to produced their version of it with David Fincher directing and Gillian Flynn writing the screenplay. HBO canceled the project because Fincher wanted to shoot in sequence which costs a lot more. Amazon picked up the rights and completed the series which was released on Amazon Prime in 2020.
Talking about British show I love “Fawlty Towers”, it was hilarious most of the time.
Love it.
I like to watch lots of British crime dramas and comedies. Unfortunately new streaming services have popped up stealing the shows that were available on the more common streaming services. All I need is more streaming services! That also includes some excellent Scandinavian shows too.

Hollywood could take a lesson from these foreign productions which cost less yet produce better shows. Hollywood got stuck in wanting too many episodes which many writers couldn’t seem to produce while many British shows had one writer for all 6 episodes. More is not necessarily better at all.
Mash, LA Law, Greys Anatomy (the first season’s, I got tired of watching when they killed off most of my favorite characters) not sure how many definitely the first 3-4, maybe a few more I forgot. The Mary Tyler Moore show, Taxi, Hill Street Blues, Laugh-In and the Johnny Carson show. Those are the ones that come to mind I watched other shows, but not as regularly.
The Twilight Zone.
Another vote for Sky King, Laugh-in, Star Trek and the Tonight show with Carson and Leno.
