Two new trails have opened at Magee Preserve in Danville, expanding the trail network connected to Sycamore Valley Open Space Preserve. Save Mount Diablo announced the opening of the Art Bonwell Trail, named after one of the organization’s co-founders, and the Do’-yum’-bel’-le Vista Trail, named in recognition of the Bay Miwok name for Mount Diablo. The trails add more than two miles of public access and connect with existing trails and a bike path in the area. The project was developed through a partnership involving Save Mount Diablo, the Town of Danville, Davidon Homes, East Bay Regional Park District and volunteers. Magee Preserve includes 381 acres of protected, publicly accessible open space. The property was preserved as part of a development plan approved by Danville voters through Measure Y in 2020, which protected 93 percent of the 410-acre property. More than 3.5 miles of East Bay Regional Park District trails at the preserve opened in June 2025. The two new trails further connect Magee Preserve with Sycamore Valley Open Space Preserve, expanding recreational access while protecting wildlife habitat.

That’s where Save Mount Diablo stands, high-density for the residents of the City of Concord.
Thanks BK, and … they are against OHV parks despite overwhelming support for expansion of existing ones and adding more … they will lobby, drag their feet, conduct questionable fundraising against it, etc.
