Kaiser Permanente nurses across California are holding informational pickets Tuesday over staffing levels and the growing use of artificial intelligence in patient care. The California Nurses Association, which represents more than 25,000 Kaiser nurses, is negotiating a new contract with the health system. The union is seeking increased staffing and a greater role for nurses in decisions involving AI and other technology. Kaiser says it meets or exceeds California’s required nurse-to-patient ratios and that technology is intended to support nurses, not replace their clinical judgment. Bay Area pickets are planned at Kaiser facilities including Walnut Creek, Antioch, Fremont, Oakland, San Francisco, San Jose, Richmond and Vallejo.

It won’t be long before robots will make up the greater part of a
surgical team.
It seems like Kaiser nurses go on strike every other year or so, but you don’t see it in other healthcare systems, why is that?
actually, they are holding informational pickets (?). Contracts are still being negotiated. When they don’t get what they want in the contracts, then they’ll drop the informational pickets and move to the professionally made “unfair” and “on strikes” pickets.
….. yawn…. another strike by Kaiser? …. how long has it been since the last one? oh Feb .2026 …. I’m not saying some of their issues are not noteworthy but after so many so frequently you get numb to them … imo

AI told the nurses to strike and wrote a demand document for them!
Another possible strike. Seems like one every year… Sad as if you look at the KP.ORG site and see how much staff make and they are striking again for more $$$, no wonder why our healthcare costs keep going up to pay for ridiculously high pay staff are making. This is why I left Kaiser years ago as staff are very well paid…
