Concord for the absolute worst!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Took the words right out of my mouth USA JIM, shame those that only know the current version they would shocked and saddened…
Clayton, that town changed a lot in the last 20 years.
Past city councils and management put antioch into a death spiral.
In West antioch laundromats, liquor stores and boarded up businesses, gold into cash
place went belly up. High density housing equals crime . . . . . .

Pleasant Hill.
Used to be a safe city. Now there are crimes daily — not just businesses, but homes, car theft. The homeless population has exploded.
City council doesn’t seem to be doing much to address any of it.
I haven’t been to every Bay Area city recently, but I have witnessed
Concord slipping into a downward spiral. The rampant crime, especially
in the mall, and the overflow of traffic, illegal invaders, and the homeless
starting fires, or passing out in people doorways is repulsive.
The biggest problem with Concord is the city’s leaders who make bad
choices thereby allowing a bad situation or event to worsen creating
a continuous and hard to control cycle of decline.—-A downward spiral.
Walnut Creek for the worse… has become an urban community with high density, high rise, high traffic gridlock …. apparently only after the dollar … from what it used to be – a high quality, well cared for city – quaintly referred to as a “bedroom community” …. sadly no longer
It just like Fonzie came in on water skis and jumped right over that shark tank!
The whole transit village obsession is a formula for increased crime; anyone with an IQ above “tilt” can see that. Out with the Walnut Festival and in with the sideshows………
When I moved out here in the early 80s, parking on South Main St was plentiful.
It wasn’t uncommon to find a parking space right in front of a store or business.
I agree! I like the term ‘high quality, well cared for’. That’s what it used to be. Now the socioeconomics has totally changed. Yeah there might be a pool of very young high-income residents, but the class that Walnut Creek used to have is gone.
All cities have sucked the stains from a truck stop toilet but Concord is the Oakland 2.0 Crown Jewel of all Sh$tholes!!

I remember several years ago a Concord City Councilmember was so excited about all of the new residents that Concord was going to get from Oakland, who were being priced out of Oakland by people who were being priced out of San Francisco.
50 year resident of concord here, so I like to think my opinion has merit
Concord , much much worse
Clayton , I would say better, especially if you factor in home equities, the fact that Clayton doesn’t have a single 7-11, quik stop, gas station or liquor store is a blessing
Pittsburg, a little better, growing up Pittsburg had the bad reputation
Antioch, really? Horribly bad, when flocks and flocks of kids come over the hill to go to concord schools you know it’s bad
P-hill, a bit better. Neighborhoods have changed little but the improvements and tenants of the shopping and restaurants is a big improvement
WC, many many good restaurants but parking and traffic make it a pain, seems to also be the target of outside criminals , don’t go to WC much anymore
58 year resident here, PH is definitely not better they just threw a shiny new bow and wrapping on the downtown but let the rest of the city circle the toilet, WC has embraced the liberal lunacy that has gripped much of Contra Costa in the last 10 years, Pitt has gotten a bit better since most the problems have migrated over to Antioch but it still is a cess pool as my adult son his wife and 2 year old daughter have moved back in with us due to high crime and low standards, and lastly Clayton is absolutely not even remotely what it was. The country club ruined what it was but hey I’m old and off to places where the old don’t get thrown out like yesterday’s garbage!
