Hands down smartphones people can’t separate reality from fiction these days.

Neither one. The smartphone in my pocket does not contain any of my
banking or personal information. I’ve lived most of my life without a cell
phone, and if they never discontinued the pay phone I probably wouldn’t
have one today. I still shop the old-fashioned way and use cash.
As for the license plate readers, as long as they are not used to issue
moving traffic citations I’m not concerned. If there are authority figures
that will abuse them, that’s not my concern. If they get caught it will be
their problem, not mine. That doesn’t mean I approve of them, because
I don’t. I don’t approve of government owned cameras anywhere, but at
the same time, they are here and there’s nothing I can do about it. I’m
not a worrier, I don’t go through life worrying about things that I have no
control over, what’s gonna happen is gonna happen whether I like or not.

View cell phone is an insecure device, would never use it for my banking or
my brokerage accounts. Heck, dang thing stays turned off until I need to use it.
Smartphone, buy far, they hear everything you say, type, download, or look up on the net, they track you even when they are turned off, unless you can remove the battery. Which is exactly why I chose an Android with a removable battery, just in case I ever need to disappear.
Now lets talk about vehicles, they listen to everything you say and record what you’re doing behind the wheel.
One is voluntary and one is compulsory. I will always be more concerned with things that are compulsory.
Both – don’t trust either one …. phone hacked before (long story, perp identified, LE said there wasn’t enough evidence to prosecute…. not exactly true, was on video and a bank teller witness) … but a huge pain to get things corrected and back on track. Plate readers – the premise is ok but the opportyunity for abuse is rampant,, so much so agencies already have had suits filed against them
I have no problem with license plate readers. They help when your home or business have been robbed. Obviously way bigger problem is your phone. Also new cars now also send all of your driving habits to your insurer. Lookup Nexus Lexus for details.
