Martinez police are investigating threats made against Alhambra High School Wednesday morning that prompted a lockdown and a large law enforcement response. Police said they were notified around 8:58 a.m. of messages sent to a tip line claiming a person was at the school with weapons and explosives and threatening to harm students and police officers. School officials placed the campus on lockdown while Martinez police responded, with assistance from Pleasant Hill police and the Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office. Investigators determined the threats were not credible, and officers assisted school officials in clearing the campus before classes resumed. Police said the anonymous messages were sent through a virtual private network that originated from an overseas source. The FBI has been contacted, and a criminal investigation into the threats remains underway. Counselors will be available at Alhambra High School Wednesday and Thursday. Location Spoofing. That’s what VPNs are for ~ Isn’t it? Likely came from very local.
I asked AI ~~Some advanced VPNs can automatically rotate country locations.
Ask a question online and AI reply says something like “in your area of San Leandro.”
Ask again later~it puts me in Daly City. Maybe not too hard to bounce someone into
another country.
Oooops, I forgot to mention … I don’t have a VPN, because it would interfere
with some genealogy / County Records sites I visit. But I do have T-mobile…

My grandson was in shop class at Alhambra during the threat/lock down. Relieved no one was hurt.
