The following is from the Concord Police Department:
On Tuesday, June 13, 2023, at about 1415hrs., the Concord Police Department received 911 calls of a large Commercial Vehicle that had struck a child on a bicycle at the intersection of Cowell Rd., at Treat Blvd.
When officers arrived they found a young child with lower leg injuries. The child had been riding his bicycle, in the crosswalk and was struck by the Commercial Vehicle as it turned from Treat Blvd. onto Cowell Rd. The child was transported by ground ambulance to Oakland Children’s Hospital for medical treatment.
The Concord Police Department Traffic Unit is investigating the accident and no further details are being released at this time. If you witnessed the accident please contact Officer Oscar Rodriguez at 925-603-5963.
