A homeless man has been arrested for allegedly starting multiple fires at a Martinez business earlier this month, the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District said this week.
Fabian Vera, 36, is accused of setting three separate fires at the site on Pacheco Boulevard that caused more than $75,000 in damage. Fire crews responded around 7:20 p.m. on March 10 and contained the fires before they could cause more damage.
One fire burned a Ford F-250 truck and a storage rack containing telecom cables, while another inside of a wheelbarrow damaged a roof above it. The third fire was near a pile of lumber in a storage yard.
According to the fire district, investigators learned the business had been having problems with a recently terminated employee, and surveillance footage showed Vera in the facility vandalizing property and leaving the site around the time the fires were set.
Vera was arrested March 16 in Bay Point and was booked into the Martinez Detention Facility, where he remains in custody. He was scheduled to be arraigned this week in Contra Costa County Superior Court.

If nobody has houses he wouldn’t feel the need to burn them down.
Checkmate, Republicants.
three hots and cot, mission accomplished
Nice one! 🙂 Just another homeless person looking for something, make sure the clothes fit in the encampment.
If Gavin buys a house for this person with our money this won’t be happening
