California State University schools will require all faculty, staff and students to be vaccinated against COVID-19 if they plan to attend a CSU campus during the fall 2021 term, the university system said Tuesday.
CSU officials chose to issue the requirement before the vaccines are formally approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration “because of evolving circumstances.”
However, public health officials have underscored the vaccines’ safety, noting that nearly 4 billion doses have been administered worldwide, substantially limiting serious COVID-related illness and death among vaccinated populations particularly in the U.S.
CSU Chancellor Joseph Castro cited the ultra-contagious delta variant as one reason the university system will require the vaccine to protect CSU students and employees.
“Receiving a COVID vaccine continues to be the best way to mitigate the spread of the virus,” Castro said in a statement. “We urge all members of the CSU community to get vaccinated as soon as possible, and announcing this requirement now allows members of the CSU community to receive multiple doses of a vaccine as we head into the beginning of the fall term.”
According to the CSU chancellor’s office, vaccination deadlines will vary by campus, but all vaccination status certifications must be completed by Sept. 30.
Vaccines are available on-site at several CSU campuses and unvaccinated students and staff are encouraged to contact their campus to determine their options and availability.
Students and employees will also have access to medical and religious exemptions and virtual courses if they do not intend to attend class on campus.
Catherine Hutchinson, president of the CSU Employees Union, said in a statement that the CSUEU and other labor officials met with Castro Tuesday morning and fully support “all efforts, whether it be through the state or the CSU, to ensure vaccinations reach more Californians.”
“Throughout the pandemic, our Union has worked closely with the California State University to prioritize student and staff safety, from demanding (personal protective equipment) to creating the conditions for students to return to schools safely,” Hutchinson said.
The California Faculty Association — which represents professors and lecturers at all 23 CSU campuses — said in a statement that its leaders will work with the chancellor’s office to ensure that students and staff are protected from the virus on campus.
“I am vaccinated, and I encourage faculty to get vaccinated if they can so that we all do our part to make the CSU a safe place to work,” CFA President Charles Toombs said.
CSU officials plan to unveil their formal vaccination policy in the coming days, according to Castro’s office.

While you’re whining it’s an experimental vaccine I’ve had several very close friends die from Covid in Asia. They’d have given everything to have access to vaccines that work. I also, have a nephew (17 years old) that just got Covid. He thought just like you and is now singing a different tune and praying he doesn’t get worse.
Oh no, a 17-yr-old got the China virus? How sad, because if he’s in good health with no underlying conditions to begin with he’s only got like a 99.99996% chance at survival, and with underlying those chances PLUMMET ALL THE WAY DOWN TO 99.96%. But yeah, after he recovers and has natural immunity, for sure make him get an experimental gene therapy where his chance of an adverse side effect such as heart inflammation are far greater than the “danger” posed to him by China virus.

Babies are at a very high risk of Covid. The ones you see that bring their babies out are 1 of 2 people. 1, Because you have people that don’t care and think this is a Hoax. So they put their own child at risk and it’s sad. 2, They don’t have any on to watch their child so they have to take them.

What is EUA? That is a when the FDA may allow the use of medical products when certain statutory criteria have been met. When you go to get the shot “As I did and everyone in my family” Yes you are asked what conditions do you have. Are you taking any medication. If you are. They tell you that we can’t do it here that you need to go see your doctor to be safe. I have a heart condition that I was born with. And they wanted me to go see my doctor and get the shot there.
The whole Myocarditis. I get why people can be nervous about this. But with so little reports on this given over 330 millions vaccines and 170 fully dose. There are many risks in all Vaccines no matter how old those are.

@Mr, babies are not at particular risk for Covid, I don’t know where you are getting that from. Very young infants are more vulnerable to disease of all kinds, but nothing special about Covid. They are much more endangered by RSV than Covid.
The myocarditis risk is serious when you compare it to the Covid risk for this age, which is very low. Germany isn’t giving mRNA Covid vaccines to kids at all, except those with particular risk factors. The UK is much the same. Do you wonder about that?

Do you know anyone that took their child in for their vaccines and the child was injured? Most people you call anti-vaxxers did not start anti anything. They were pro vaccines until their child was injured or killed. People with vaccine-injured children (who have to care for a disabled child for the rest of their lives and got no compensation for the injuries) know a lot more than most doctors about vaccine ingredients, etc. I have spent 15 years researching vaccines researching every ingredient for every childhood vaccine. And have spent the last few months researching covid vaccine ingredients.
They are not safe or effective. If they were effective, why the masks even for vaccinated people. How can the virus be contagious when you walk into (masks on) a restaurant, but it’s not contagious after you are seated (masks off)?
How many FDA-approved medications have been recalled after approval because they were not safe and people died? Look up the lawsuits against Pfizer and Johnson & Johnson. Do you actually think they care about people before profit?! The problem is if a vaccine injures you, you cannot sue the manufacturer. They have zero liability for vaccines. In the 80s, vaccine manufacturers were losing tons of money from lawsuits from vaccine injuries. They were going to stop making them unless the government made it, so they were not liable for injuries. 1986 National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act was passed into law. The National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program began. This is how you could get compensated for vaccine injuries. The problem is that it is you against the government attorneys. In the beginning, it was easier to prove your case; then, they changed the accepted injuries or adverse events. Even though it is almost impossible to win a lawsuit in vaccine court, over 4.2 billion in payouts have been there.
But the covid vaccines do not fall under the NVICP. They are under the Countermeasures Injury Compensation Program; it is impossible to get compensated.
So its going to be mandated by the state to have the mark to be able to work, eat, shop, etc. Well, then, perhaps, the state should be listing on the cards and publicly who has Aids, HIV, Hepatitis, Syphilis, Gonorrhea, STD’s, etc. Also, who is a child molester, liberal nonbinary, etc. I guess, people cant see how this is total communism being forced onto the American citizens against their will.
