Construction Alert! Expect Delays On Grant St. And East St. In Concord Through Mid-December

Pavement rehabilitation for the Grant Street/East Street Pavement Rehabilitation in Concord has begun.

The project limits are Grant Street from Broadmoor Avenue (hwy.242) to High School Avenue, and East Street from High School Avenue to Salvio Street.

The pavement rehabilitation work began in late-October, and is anticipated to be complete by Dec. 16. As a result, traffic will be reduced down to a single 11-foot lane in both directions on certain days within this time frame.

Due to the nature of the pavement rehabilitation work, one lane in each direction will be permanently closed in phases. Left turn movements will be limited and detours will be implemented to access major destinations. Flaggers will be on site as needed to direct traffic, and advanced notification signs will be installed.

Drivers, bicyclists, and pedestrians travelling through the area are encouraged to take alternate routes during the construction period and should expect delays if travelling in the project area during this date range.

Parking will be temporarily restricted within these limits on Grant Street and East Street.

Detour maps are available on the City’s website.

Perfect timing. Just wait until the rain starts to get going on a project.
Had all summer when things were dry as a bone for the new pavement to stick.

Agreed ! I made a comment in late August about the poor, poor planning of the city to starrt the sidewalk work often closing lanes in this zone right by the hospital and the start of the school year at the high school….

Then, as sos said, now it’s the season of bad weather…..

Plan your trips so they don’t happen with the start of the school day or dismissal…

I hope everyone respects the ambulances coming and going at the hospital

Remember…. The City Council has to approve all these projects…

VOTE anti-incumbent

Kicking fentanyl just takes self discipline.

The pavement doesn’t need “rehabilitation”. “Rehab” is just socialist-speak for lifelong dependence on government handouts. Liberals insist that taxpayers foot the bill for illegal immigrant druggie losers’ stupid choices. Enough is enough!

I was going to Safeway on Willow Pass road today around 3 p.m. and the store was closed, wonder if it has to do with the construction? Then I went to Grocery Outlet instead, I was going to take Willow Pass to the Chevron station and then turn left, but Willow Pass was so slow and congested I turned around (in Alpine Bakeries parking lot, and took Willow Pass the other way and then Contra Costa Blvd and stopped at the Safeway next to Nordstroms’s Rack.
