An Antioch man was convicted Jan. 18 on four counts related to illegal firearm possession and a high-speed chase in a stolen vehicle.

Artis Chavez Crenshaw, Jr. was found guilty by a jury in Superior Court in Pittsburg on four of the five charges, including felon in possession of a firearm, possession of an assault weapon, stealing a vehicle, and fleeing a police officer while reckless driving. He was acquitted of receiving stolen property, motor vehicle.

On July 1, Crenshaw stole a car in Antioch. The next day, police spotted Crenshaw driving the stolen vehicle in on Port Chicago Highway in Concord and attempted to pull him over.

A high-speed chase ensued and proceeded to westbound Highway 4 as Crenshaw accelerated to 115 mph while weaving through traffic.
CHP laid down a spike strip at Sycamore Avenue near Hercules to disable the vehicle, with Crenshaw drove through and kept evading officers by driving with a flattened tire. He proceeded head back on to Highway 4 and eventually crashed at the San Marco Boulevard exit in Bay Point, where he was arrested.

Make him stand in the corner for an hour and make him promise not to do it again.
That should do it.

Only 4 years? Probably won’t serve that even! What the hell is wrong with our Democrat judges and leaders that they’re turning loose the criminals to victimize the rest of us over and over and over again. Believe me we the public are getting fed up. We got to both of these idiots out of office. And you Democrats out there need to wake up because it’s all your people doing this!

What I’d like to know is who EXACTLY pays for these willful and unlawful imbeciles to coddled, remanded, and pampered. How dare you endanger the lives of others!

Mayor, I’m sure by now you have this headline copied and saved and just paste it, correct?

He drove from Hercules to Baypoint on a flat tire, and crashed the car. I feel sorry for the poor owner of that car, and hope their insurance will cover the loss.

Will do less than two years.
Question, where will time be served, in state prison or county jail ?
What’s that ? ? ?
You’re confused ? ? ?
.
Law AB-109 passed in 2011, by DEM controlled state legislature, made sentences in excess of 367 days could be served in county jails. Jail overcrowding caused by that change prompted series of propositions making it harder for Police to charge Felonies and made it possible to get criminals back out on our streets faster. To get a long sentence these days criminals have to graduate to killing someone.

A felon in possession of a firearm? But we have gun laws?! Perps don’t follow the rules?! Say it’s not true! Newscum, Bonta, Becton – did you know this happens?

Jimbo nunya February 5, 2024 - 6:58 PM - 6:58 PM

What if he killed someone in the car chase? 6 years??? This State SUCKS!
