The following is from the Pleasant Hill Police Department:

During a call for a theft tonight from Dick’s, officers chased Sacramento resident Lamont Beamon into the Geraldine neighborhood before taking him into custody in a backyard. In retracing the flight of the foot pursuit, officers located this Glock 19 handgun with a loaded drum magazine. Beamon was booked into Martinez Detention Facility on a host of charges. A nice catch by our graveyard team of the suspect and the firearm.

How could he have that in California, pretty sure that’s not a stock magazine. I bet the pistol wasn’t registered in his name either….just a guess.

Will Diana Becton ( our DA) charge this thug with anything? Why did he drive 70 miles to come here??

Now is the time for our DA to do her job.

The additional law gives the police another charge to bring against him.

It is the restrictive gun laws in CA that embolden such theft. If there was any chance that the clerk behind the counter was carrying, do you think there would have been a robbery attempt?

Well heck lets show criminals by example there is little downside if they commit crimes in CA.
Let felons outta state prisons and turn county jails in all 58 California’s counties in to revolving doors, releasing sentenced criminals long before their sentences end due to jail overcrowding.
IF you would like this downward trend to continue by all means elect DEM politicians.
.
Prediction, when more details are released, he will be a convicted felon and have a long CA arrest sheet.
.
Supposedly there are illegal after market parts that can render pistol into full automatic.
Imagine if cornered in crowded environment, had weapon with it’s 50 round drum magazine
and had used it . . . . how many dead ? ? ?
.
It is time to correct woke liberal SOFT ON CRIME treatment of criminals and
send a message do a crime in CA you’ll do SERIOUS TIME.
.
Felon with a gun automatic 10 years concurrent.
Carry a gun during commission of a crime automatic 15 years concurrent.
Fire a gun during commission of a crime automatic 20 years concurrent.
.
If there is no threat of incarceration,
there is no deterrence to criminal behavior

.
But this is CoCo county . . . . .
what would you call our district attorney ? ? ?

A Question:
If you started firing that gun with the hi-max drum; would the metal gun parts heat up an swell and the gun would jam before you got even close to emptying the drum?
Enquiring minds wanna know……….

Glocks are every definition of reliable, so I would say no.

Wage Slave February 16, 2024 - 2:06 PM - 2:06 PM

Far more likely the drum magazine would induce a malfunction. They are not known for being particularly reliable. The gun itself should be able to handle hundreds of rounds rapidly without failing. The limiting factor is more the shooter. The gun would get extremely hot and painful to handle and manipulate.

So the gun had nothing to do with the robbery?

At least he didn’t have an assault rifle! LOL

We have only had two possible DA’s candidates since Becton, that would have charged this. Paul Graves and Mary Knox. Becton is only in the office a few days a month, so her involvement is non-existent.

Dawg February 16, 2024 - 10:51 AM - 10:51 AM

The gun has a threaded barrel extension for a silencer.

I haven’t checked lately, but I believe that is also a no-no in Commiefornia.

Wow, they have a 450 Turbo Label Writer…that is advanced.

I thought the same as many of you above, like, the gun controllers should consider a law banning such magazines/drums for use on these assault weapons. I am sure that the ammunition used was also acquired by waiting for the background check, another liberty minded requirement in this uber free state we live in.

With all that weight it he was carrying, he must have been easy to catch.

domo February 16, 2024 - 12:54 PM - 12:54 PM

Good job LE! … now Becton do yours and lock the revolving door!

Bob February 16, 2024 - 1:07 PM - 1:07 PM

Just think, if he’d only left the gun at home, he’d be there now…..

Wage Slave February 16, 2024 - 2:11 PM - 2:11 PM

I am thankful that gangbangers and thugs are mostly idiots, and base their firearm habits on what they see in rap videos and not what is actually effective and lethal. That pistol and optic are a good combination for laying down reliable and accurate fire. That magazine is a ridiculous boat anchor that will slow you down and probably cause malfunctions. There is a reason you will never see military or police using one.

Maybe hip hop culture is a government psyop to kneecap street criminals…

yoyohop February 16, 2024 - 5:26 PM - 5:26 PM

Hiphop culture is certainy a psyop – the goal being to keep the prisons full and certain demographics at the bottom. Inner city kids ate up NWA and gansta rap just as middle America did Taylor Swift.

Dick’s should have put up “No Gun Zone” signs. That would have stopped him immediately.

Lamont….the perfect name for a genius

Atticus Thraxx February 16, 2024 - 5:45 PM - 5:45 PM

That would tame the some what ‘ flippy’ nature of the Glock in that caliber, but at the cost of what makes a pistol tactically useful. Threaded barrel is going to be problematic for his public defender too. Sucks to be him.

Tim February 22, 2024 - 9:21 PM - 9:21 PM

Lamont of Sacramento has a criminal history going back years. The courts are failing us. The photo of the gun/magazine says it all. Should be isolated from the general population before he really hurts somebody bad.
