I don’t like to watch sports.
Rather be playing them.

Life is not a spectator sport.

I’m not a sportsfan, so don’t watch any. However, years ago I did like to watch figure skating. During the Olympic I would at times watch the downhill ski races, as well as figure skating and speed skating. I got very caught up in the Dan Janssen story. The speed skater from Wisconsin (grew up close to where my exhusband was from), he was the favor to win gold in the Olympic’s in Canada (forgot city and year) a few hours before he was to skate he got word that his favorite sister had died of leukemia, he skated, but feld or fumbled. He finally after other fails, won gold in Lillehammer in 1994. They made a TV movie of his story it was pretty good, and he is such an inspiraton.

Not partial to sports, see no point in fighting over a ball.
Stock market is far more of a challenge and more entertaining.

I don’t watch any of them on TV. If I can go in person to a baseball or football game, that I will do.

I like watching NHL on tv (but prefer live). Would the WSOP count? I think not, more of a contest. I feel the same way about BattleBots, more of a skills/engineering contest, but would not argue with anyone who counts it as a sport. MLB and NFL lost me as a consumer of their product.

Never went to college so I don’t watch any college sport. What’s the sense of supporting a team that I have no connection to? Gave up watching MLB when they went on strike in ’95 and they put some clown on TV who said the reason he was striking was because he had to support his family. He said this while having this SEG on his face. At that time, the average MLB salary was $800,000.00 or about 15x what I was making at the time. I thought to myself, “These idiots have no clue how regular people live”. So I quit watching. Besides, who wants to watch some guy grab his crotch and spit? Not a real hockey fan but it’s OK. Hell no to Non-Athletic-Sport-Centered-Around-Rednecks (aka NASCAR); who wants to watch 2000 left turns? That left the No-Future-League. Was a big fan, had Niner season tickets for twenty years. Lots of memorabilia. Then they got really stupid. Crapernick started taking a knee, players who can barely spell their name and making millions of dollars started calling anybody who didn’t agree with their ignorant views racists, the League sanctioned their unpatriotic behavior, the media played suck up, etc. So no more sports for me and I don’t miss it at all.

If labor strife that didn’t directly involve you threw you off, you were never a baseball fan to begin with. NASCAR rules, so your redneck comment while well founded, is outta line.
I didn’t read the rest when I realized you’re just bitter about stuff and that’s just boring.

It wasn’t the labor strife at all. It was the player smirking and the impression that he felt entitled that turned me off. NASCAR comment not out of line. It’s my opinion and I stand by it. NFL is woke and I’m not. I’m not bitter and stay off my lawn!

I’m not gonna say it’s my favorite, that’d probably be NASACR and F1, but you guts ever watch Sumo Wrestling on ESPN2? Getting into it big time. Can’t remember the name of the league at the moment but it’s fascinating. You’d think it was just two fat guys slamming into each other, but there’s a bunch of strategy and tactics to implement that strategy. They never say a word, never make an expression. The key apparently is grip, powdered slaps and footwork. And butt pimples. But at the end of the day it is two fat guys slamming into each other, so I have to wonder about how I spend my spare time.

Formula 1, IMSA sports cars, IndyCar and the NFL, with a little Warriors basketball sometimes. Once in a while, USC football (I got my MS there): fight on! My favorite place to be watching sports is wandering around Laguna Seca, something I’ve enjoyed doing since before I was old enough to drive. I’ve made it to only two F1 races, but if I could go to any live sporting event, it would be the Italian Grand Prix at Monza, something I hope to do in the future. I made it to the track last June (the Temple of Speed), but only to visit, as it was a weekday and there was no racing.

Pretty much the same as Clayden but for just the car racing. I went to the last F1 race run in Long Beach back in ’83. Finally the first F1 practice session starts in about 100 hrs., I always watch them live no matter the time of day.

The only sport is NHRA drag racing
