Remember folks that there is a Union Backed PLA for this development, so nothing Residential will get built unless the unions agree to modify the PLA, no matter what the City Council thinks or says.
Please forgive my ignorance, but what is a PLA?
TPC,
.
PLA = Project Labor Agreement.
Project Labor Agreement
Somebody does not like it being pointed out that “Prevailing Union Wages” will be paid for all jobs at CNWS redevelopment. Try to make union wages “Pencil Out” for residential development. Forget about it!, not gonna happen.
Unions just want American citizens to do the work.
It’s just called prevailing wage. Union is only if the contractors workers chose to organize under a union contract. Requiring union workers is against the law. I have tried to explain this to the council members for years. You can set prevailing wage but not union. Because the developer has been hired if Brookfield employees choose to organize then Brookfield will beuion if they don’t then they won’t.
