Vehicle Fire Extinguished On Kirker Pass On Saturday

A raging inferno was extinguished on Kirker Pass Rd. on Saturday afternoon.

The vehicle fire started around 4 p.m., and was quickly extinguished by firefighters with the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District.

It appears nobody was injured.

The fire is under the hood in the engine compartment, which is an indication of gas leaking onto a hot engine. People should get into the habit of opening the hood once a week to check the fuel lines for leaks, and while they’re at it, check the hoses and look for loose wires.
