The cockroaches are back at Cold Stone Creamery in Pleasant Hill, according to the Contra Costa County Department of Environmental Health.

The ice cream shop, located at 60 Crescent Dr. in Pleasant Hill, was closed this week after inspectors from the Contra Costa County Department of Environmental Health say they found the following:

  • 1 live nymph cockroach on prep counter near stone where ice cream is prepared
  • 1 live adult cockroach inside 1 door reach in refrigerator
  • 1 dead cockroach on floor in front of 2 door standing refrigerator
  • 1 dead cockroach near window on side of restaurant near paper product storage
  • 1 dead cockroach on floor next to 2 door standing refrigerator

The restaurant was inspected this week after a complaint came in to the health department from a customer, who said they saw a live cockroach on the counter.

This is the third time since December of 2017 this Cold Stone location has been closed due to cockroaches.

Both Chipotle and Sweet Tomatoes, which are located on each side of Cold Stone, have never been closed, and have always passed inspection.

Who doesn’t like a crunchy topping on their ice cream?

I thought I bought cookies and cream.
I’d rather go to dairy Queen. Cold stone is ridiculously overpriced junk.

How does this place stay open? Is it that hard to call pest control ? I stopped going there after the first shutdown and wont ever return. Would be nice to see a Ben and Jerry’s here some other reputable brand.

Should be 3 strikes and you’re out.

Sweet Tomatoes is not connected to the building as there is open space in between.
I think this place will be gone soon. Bad inspections have put corner bakery cafe and Original Pancake House out of business. Both were nearby.

Pathetic. I don’t like seeing stores going out of business, but this is ridiculous

@TroyDHezz Every place does not have cockroaches. It is a big deal. They are a vector for disease. Sorry about your incredibly low standards.

Do you work for pest control? Well I do. Enough said Giddyup!

Hopefully the 3 ice cream shops around the Park in downtown Concord will stay clean. Sometimes it fun to go out for ice cream.

I just cannot imagine going to work and serving food to customers with cockroaches. WTF is wrong with people? How do they let this happen?
