I can’t imagine a situation where ones very own son kills them. Absolutely heartbreaking. May she RIP.

I can.

– child abuse
– meth
– crack

WhoDat Girl February 6, 2020 - 9:16 PM - 9:16 PM

No matter what behavior the child or adult has/had, murdering a family member is probably the greatest indicator of mental illness. My heart breaks for both of them. Compassion is one of the greatest abilities a human may express; get you some.

I’m going to go with Schitzophrenia. Very sad.

A female raped by a family member and forced to have the baby

You really can’t stretch your imagination? I could give you 20 more reasons without even really trying.

Come on now

How extremely sad for all involved. My heart goes out to them

Voice of reason February 6, 2020 - 1:41 PM - 1:41 PM

How did he kill her? Was it an accident?

S February 6, 2020 - 5:27 PM - 5:27 PM

“…stab wounds.” Wounds is plural… Not an accident.

WhoDat Gurl February 6, 2020 - 9:17 PM - 9:17 PM

Good God how heartbreaking.

She brought you into this world, and you took her out. That’s not how the saying goes

Just because someone gave birth to you doesn’t mean they’re a good person, or that you owe them anything.

For all we know, maybe the woman relentlessly tortured the young man every day and he finally snapped.

Come on now. It wouldn’t be Claycord without uninformed conclusions being made!

That explains the 10 police car zipping past my house around 9 pm last night,no lights or sirens but going very fast.

Doris Stathoff February 6, 2020 - 3:29 PM - 3:29 PM

We should not be surprised when we read reports like this. 2 Timothy 3 1-5 tell us things such as this will going on in the Last Days. Psalms 37:10 and 11 tells us there will be a change, this change will not be bought about by man further information what we may look forward to go to JW.ORG

Make fun of him for believing but its most likely this murderer was a non believer. God fearing people are usually more respectful to others and do for others.

In a world where greed rules and everyone’s out in the rat race for themselves it’s no wonder stuff like this is bound to happen everyday… It’s a sad world with sad people and you guys poking jokes make it only sadder. Ponder that one and ask your self why do you even do it? You must not be happy with yourself and do it for the kicks to get a little adrenaline rush.. Be the change you wish to see in this world, do on to others as you want done to you.

Mental illness.

Ricardoh February 6, 2020 - 4:12 PM - 4:12 PM

Stab wounds, that’s a pretty tough way to go. Let’s wait for the rest of the story.

ZZ February 6, 2020 - 4:21 PM - 4:21 PM

So very, very sad, whatever the cause was for this atrocity.

PC February 6, 2020 - 4:30 PM - 4:30 PM

Hard to imagine the desperate mind of a murderer. Obviously gun control will not stop killers, they resort to other means.

How... February 6, 2020 - 6:39 PM - 6:39 PM

How are you going to collect the evidence when Captain Bill Roche disbanded the CSI unit?

I agree with John and Anon. It could have been or not taking the antidepressants and then realizing the aftermath. It’s pretty sad. But these are only conclusions and opinions until the real truth comes out. I have a friend and my friends son, When he was a teenager and  had manic depression
and schizophrenia and him being a teenager he thought his meds not working or he would think he wouldn’t need them, he would act different. And with this most case they usually don’t remember a whole lot of stuff or none at all. On one occasion,  which changed his life for the better. realize that he needed to take his medicine was the time when he tried to go after me with a knife out of the blue, and cussing g at me. His mother had to get between us. I eventually I had to leave because he wasn’t stopping. The next morning I visited my friend. About 15 minutes later her son came out of his room and started to apologize for what he had did. He said he didn’t remember all of it and that his mother told him what had happened. He started crying and he told me that he would never ever would want to do that to me to his mother or to anybody. From that day on she realize that he would have to have his medicine for the rest of his life. Till this day he takes his medicine and he’s never had an episode like that again.
My prayers and sympathy to the family and friends.

A moment of rage… forever to regret
It breaks my heart to even begin to imagine.
Praying for all involved and hoping the young man gets the help he was crying out for.

I’m appalled and I believe we need stricter knife laws… This could have been avoided had he not had access to knives. Tragic but preventable.

I guess the one question is where was the father?

I agree Jane. Unfortunately, our mental health services in this state are lacking to say the least. While Reagan (a Republican) shut down all of the mental health hospitals, I can’t ever see the current (Democratic) government every reinstating them. The ACLU would be all over it saying we are taking away their rights! As we know, the current liberal California government mirrors the wishes of the ACLU!

Ilovepopcorn February 7, 2020 - 9:42 AM - 9:42 AM

Wow this is horrific. I am so sorry they did not have any type of intervention before this happened. Obviously they needed help as a family unit.

ConcordNative February 7, 2020 - 11:19 AM - 11:19 AM

So sad for all involved. Families hands are tied when it comes to their members that are adults…until there is a problem or tragedy like this. I’m sure everyone is different but trying to make sure they stay on their meds and that they are well is a full time job. Unfortunately, most cannot be trusted to do this on their own. They start to feel better then decide they don’t need any more meds which can turn everything upside down. So very, very sad.

When Medicaid and Medicare were created in 1965, patients in mental institutions were excluded from coverage. State legislators began encouraging patients to be discharged in an effort to shift the cost of care to the federal government via JFK’s Community Mental Health Act of 1963.

When Reagan became governor in ’67, patients in the California state mental hospitals had been on the decline since it’s peak in 1959. He made budget and job cuts to the Department of Mental Hygiene even though these facilities were understaffed at that time. He also implemented the “patients bill of rights” with the Lanterman-Petris-Short Act that ended institutionalizing patients against their will or for indefinite periods of time.

Two years later Reagan reversed the cuts and increased spending to records levels after studies showed that patient care outside the state hospitals was inadequate.

Many years pass as the number of patients being discharged from California state hospitals continues to steadily decline. In 1980 Carter passes the Mental Health Systems Act intended to bolster JFK’s bill. In 1981 Reagan repealed Carter’s bill with his Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act and federal mental illness spending drops.

The praise or blame for this series of events is shared by both parties and as you know the road is paved with good intentions. Let’s not forget the pressure the countries economic status placed on each administration. Also, notice the absence of LBJ and Nixon’s contributions to this cause.
