Two Arrested During Concord Police DUI Enforcement Patrol On Friday

Concord Police arrested two drivers on suspicion of DUI while conducting a DUI enforcement patrol on Friday night.

“Driving under the influence is dangerous, illegal and puts a further strain on resources in the middle of a pandemic,” Lt. Mark Robison said. “We are still out there and will not hesitate to stop drivers who drive impaired.”

Drivers charged with DUI face an average of $13,500 in fines and penalties, as well as a suspended license.

Concord Police Department reminds the public that impaired driving is not just from alcohol. Some prescription medications or over-the-counter drugs may interfere with driving. Always follow directions for use and read warning labels about driving or operating heavy machinery, which includes driving a car. While medicinal and recreational marijuana are legal, driving under the influence of marijuana is illegal.

Concord Police Department will be holding a series of DUI enforcement patrols throughout the year to keep our roadways safe.

Once again; Two seems to be the (unspoken) Limit.

Even when police advertise the DUI Checkpoint…. there’s always 1 or 2 who didn’t get the memo.

Most drinkers don’t care as past arrests and accidents show…
So they got 2 but probably 100 others drive other directions missing the “saturation patrols”.

Still think they would have made a bigger haul last weekend.

I’m very conciensus about not driving when boozin, especially with how easy rides are too get w/Uber n Lyft these days. We partied one night and took Lyft home went to bed, got called into work earlier than normal and lady ran a red light and I hit her passenger tail light. Concord cop.took me aside and says hey bud you really smell like booze, and I was hot, like real hot still from night before. Blew like .17….regardless of sleeping for hrs I was guilty drinking n driving absolutely ….but it’s one of those things you don’t think about, the night before. So for all you who party hard n late! Be careful

I wouldn’t advertise these things in the newspapers at all. They should be by the element of surprise. I would encourage the use of Rottweilers, batons and pepper spray in providing remediation and encouragement to not commit these crimes again.

Over boozing takes longer than one day to sober up.

Pretty scary to think people are that dumb to drive under the influence. Just think that they do that all the time. Thank you Concord PD for getting these irresponsible people off the streets. Those fines and getting a suspended license sounds really bad especially during these trying times.

They failed to mention that or at least I did not read it or see it.
