There was an unusual adjustment to the number of new cases per day in today’s release of the data. Normally in a daily update there are small changes in the numbers for previous days. A case will be added or subtracted from a day, sometimes going back months. In example is in today’s update the number of new cases for 7/18/2020 was adjusted downwards from 129 to 128. That was a normal adjustment and does not change the picture all that much. However, today’s adjustment also included these changes to the number of new cases of COVID-19 each day:

12/19/2020

The county removed 185 cases from the data for 12/22/2020 to 01/18/2021. I suspect something went wrong with a batch of samples in a lab that resulted in a cluster of false positives. Oddly, the number of tests per day was not reduced indicating someone decided to accept the test results as negative for COVID-19. Presumably, at least 185 people in the county were notified that they don’t have COVID-19 and to disregard the previous notification of a positive test result.

Perhaps the result of the change in testing standard,

Hmm, Why Is Gavin Newsom Hiding Coronavirus Data from the Public?
He already told us why. The calculation metrics are complicated and we’re too stupid to understand how they arrive at the data.

23% means lift the stupid regional shut down and give the businesses who are struggling a break. Sactown is out at 9% they better lift ours.

The Chronicle is asking why the Bay Area isn’t open.

“Intensive care unit availability in the Bay Area jumped to 23.4% on Saturday after weeks of single-digit availability, a strong signal that the worst of the surge is in the past.”

So why is Sacramento open up, and the bay area has not, even though we are in better shape? https://med.stanford.edu/covid19/dashboard.html#testing

How many restaurants does Gavin own in Sacramento County?

Gavin bin Lyin’ is cooking the books in a way that would make Al Capone blush! But his kids get to attend in-person private school, he and his wife can get their hair cut without getting Pelosied, and he can run up a tab at the French Laundry or some other upscale restaurant.

BTW- We really enjoyed dining in restaurants on our trip across country. Really enjoyed buying a home ‘there’. Can’t wait to leave Kleptofornica!

The whole world is being lied to. Of course that’s a far right conspiracy theory. Nevermind the Netherlands protesting, London being told by their government that people walking their dogs and jogging are more likely to have and to spread covid. And at the same time shutting streets off in London and turning them into bike lanes. Doing the same thing in Australia… Hmmm using the same playbook? Huh, wasn’t it Concord that wanted to make a little bike lane playground for the kids to teach them how to ride a bike in the street?
Double up on those masks!
