- Total cases (since March) – 64,801
- Recovered cases – 63,182
- Deaths – 742
- Total active confirmed cases – 877
- Nursing home deaths – 315
- 7 active outbreaks in nursing homes
Contra Costa County COVID-19 Hospital Data:
- Patients currently hospitalized – 40
- Occupied ICU beds – 111
- Available ICU beds – 39
The State will move Contra Costa County to the “Orange Tier” once the following three criteria have been met for two consecutive weeks:
- CASE RATE: 1.0 – 3.9 daily new cases (per 100k) (currently 6.7)
- POSITIVEY RATE: 2.0 – 4.9% positive tests for entire county (currently 2.2%)
- EQUITY METRIC: Less than 5.3% positive tests for health equity quartile (currently 4.1%)
K-6 School Reopening:
- Schools have been allowed to reopen since February 9, 2021.

Everybody has made mistakes. This disease was new and we all had to learn. And he did it just about as well as anyone. Who’s on your panel? @Jojo, I said “top epidemiologists” most likely from universities and other organizations. Fauci is a “popstar” epidemiologist most likely selected because of name recognition. He is also a controversial figure. I believe others would have taken a less authoritarian approach.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) reportedly failed to test 2,000 migrants before they were released into a small town on the Texas border after illegally entering the country.
The release, first reported by the New York Post on Tuesday, prompted criticism of the Biden administration by Democrat Del Rio Mayor Bruno Lozano. Del Rio is a small, cash-strapped Texas border town of only 35,000 residents where CBP let the nearly 2,000 untested migrants out of custody.
