Remember when Sunvalley looked like that?

During this time, the food court at the Sunvalley Mall was considered one of the best in the country, and the mall was also the only air conditioned mall in the World, with a set temperature of a cool 72-degrees.

ABOUT THE CLAYCORD ONLINE MUSEUM: The Claycord Online Museum is made up of historical photos, documents & anything else that has to do with the history of our area.

When I was in my Teens use to hangout at Sunvalley all the time. Use to think the Chinese place in the Food Court was the best Chinese Food around. Liked the idea you could get a 3 item combo plate for a few bucks. Also back in them there day we would go there to meet girls!

Loved this place! Not sure the full story or how it fell into it’s demise, but I had worked Hollister and victorias secret and it has always been a chill job…. folding panties😄

Loved Sun Valley in the early days. Worked at Macy’s for the Xmas season in 1972. Best of times. Don’t think it will be around much longer.

When I was between real jobs, I spent a summer working at Radio Shack. I did enjoy working in the Mall. My favorite places for lunch were Hof-Brau and the Chinese buffet, both of which had mall employee discounts.

Yeah – malls were kind of cool for their time.

Sunvalley is a sad place. I rarely go there. It is a dangerous place now. Not only that it is not nice anymore. Too bad.

My father owned two of the restaurants in the food court before 1980. One was J’s Hamburgers & Such and the other was J’ BBQ. We grew up as kids working the restaurants and had friends visit us at the mall . We belonged to the gym and watched many movies at the theater. We would also take lesson at the ice skating rink. As for the restaurants my favorite was Hoff Brau the Chinese place. Mr Lee was always my server . Many memories of that mall.

Kid in grade school sat on one of those birds during a field trip. I wonder what ever happened to “Iron Chicken”?
