Rain, a few hundreths to .1″ —
Oh, you’re teasing us.
Does that qualify to be called rain?

.
A little bit of rain is welcomed to wash away the wildfire ash.
.
But then it flows into the bay and clouds the water.
.
Then rain needs to stay away until after Halloween.

Or put gutter covers on them. When I got my new roof the contractor recommended them. They were less than $3 each (about 3′) and all I get in the gutter is a thin film of silt.
OTOH, my patio roof has the worst design for a gutter ever and probably the same as most patio roof gutters. Very hard to clean out!

I’ll believe it when I see it!
Why, I’ll even wash my car it would guarantee that we’ll get rain. But not supposed to wash car. I think the weatherman’s just trying to tease us.

Not sure what kind of system this will be, but with some luck it will dump more precipitation at elevation as it goes over the sierras and douse the fires, tamping down the fire risk until the wet season begins.

Well….according to my Native American Injun Girlfriend AND my Magic 8 Ball,
“All signs point to NO”……however, Nanaheyhey say’s we can still make it rain if EVERYBODY waters their yards, washes the cars & leaves laundry on the clothesline overnight…. but that may use more water than we’ll get back in rain, so don’t.

Thunder, lightning and rain here today. It is a comfortable day with rain quite heavy at times. Forecast calls for 2 inches today. My unofficial rain gauge says we already got 3 inches here at the lake. AQI is 19. Hope you get enough to put the fires out.

@Dr. Jellyfinger. Funny you mention your Native American girlfriend, as I have 1/16th from my Great Great Grandfather on my mother’s side and thought early on with the fires, I wish I could speak to my him, he’d know how to bring the rain. But, sounds like your girlfriend has it covered. 🙂
Yeah, she doesn’t know squat, but she phones her grandma, Haffa Sakapotatas… the old gal is really in tune with the Earth… she talks to squirrels & stuff (she tells them to come take a peanut then run away & they do it!). She predicted the outcome of the recall election & put a poultice on my bruised arm… 8 days later the bruise was gone!
Yes, nice to get rain early, any amount.
.
Clean your roof gutters!
.
I make it rain all year long in the club.
