The large building under construction on Evora Rd. near Willow Pass Rd. in Concord will be a private storage facility and a private museum, according to county records.

Records show the owner, Albert Seeno Jr., has stated an intent to utilize the warehouse for personal storage of artifacts and taxidermy.

This will undoubtedly be heated/air-conditioned and further overtax the power grid.

I read that I was going to be a warehouse before, but thought it was too beautiful a building for that! How anti clamactic!

The Wizard May 23, 2022 - 9:12 AM - 9:12 AM

Is there going to be wild animals grazing out front?

Lamorinda Larry May 23, 2022 - 6:17 PM - 6:17 PM

Yes! Seeno spawn will graze alongside other wild animal species.

Dana Estates May 23, 2022 - 9:17 AM - 9:17 AM

That’s kinda cool! I thought it was going to be a Movie Theater, thanks for giving us the insight. Looks like it could be a cool wedding venue, or prom venue if they open it up to be rented out. I love the animal exhibits idea. Thanks Claycord for the info. 🙂

Tara May 23, 2022 - 10:20 AM - 10:20 AM

I thought the same thing about a movie theater.

Melissa Young May 23, 2022 - 11:31 AM - 11:31 AM

It’s for his own private collection. He isn’t going to be renting it out to anyone who isn’t already in his circle of friends. This is him throwing money around because he’s got it from undercutting the competition and then cutting corners on his work to meet his actual budget while he rakes in the profits.

Yolanda May 23, 2022 - 12:26 PM - 12:26 PM

I thought it was going to be a movie theater too.

e.bunners May 24, 2022 - 1:30 PM - 1:30 PM

Yea….that would be really cool eating and dancing around a “museum” of ALL of the animals he’s slaughtered on game reserves in Africa. He has ‘STUFFED’ Giraffes, Lions, bears etc. etc. that have been on display in his house for years; apparently he thinks people will be in awe of his murdering defenseless animals.
NO THANK YOU

Tony Karavidas May 27, 2022 - 12:27 PM - 12:27 PM

I thought it was going to be a movie theater as well. That would have been a lot more useful than this useless thing.

mike May 23, 2022 - 9:19 AM - 9:19 AM

Worst family in diablo valley. Wins the weapons station bid only to purposely sideline the project to keep his views from his house nice. You don’t have to look too far past his use for this facility. A place he can go to spend time with all of the animals he’s killed.

Kevin May 23, 2022 - 10:32 AM - 10:32 AM

Nailed it.

Oh, please May 23, 2022 - 1:20 PM - 1:20 PM

Hell, if that keeps him from building more houses there to increase crowding, then he has my blessing!

Pete V. May 23, 2022 - 4:46 PM - 4:46 PM

Never dealt directly with the Seenos but have many connections that are just a degree or two separated from them….definitely have mixed feelings towards the Seenos. But in this case if Seeno is actually preventing the development of the NWS, then I say hell yeah and fully support them.

mike May 24, 2022 - 6:16 AM - 6:16 AM

not totally sure if the hang up on development is JUST about his view. I’m sure once he gets the approved extra funding and access rights he is asking for the project will move forward.

Tugboat May 24, 2022 - 8:44 AM - 8:44 AM

Wonder if any politicians from Nevada are part of the exhibit
.

Tameesha May 23, 2022 - 11:18 AM - 11:18 AM

Will the museum open to the public

Oh, please May 23, 2022 - 9:07 PM - 9:07 PM

Well, it says private.

What a waste of space to be a private museum and warehouse! He could have built something for the public to enjoy instead of once again only thinking of himself! What a disappointment!!

Cowellian May 23, 2022 - 2:08 PM - 2:08 PM

Send me your address and I’ll mail you a list of projects that I think you should spend your money on.

Pete V. May 23, 2022 - 4:49 PM - 4:49 PM

How DARE he spend his money how he sees fit, the absolute nerve, the unmitigated gall!

Janice May 23, 2022 - 12:19 PM - 12:19 PM

Sorry to hear it’s a Seeno personal property, I thought it was gonna be a movie theater or a museum. Beautiful murals.

babytruck May 23, 2022 - 12:24 PM - 12:24 PM

This is a personal museum for the big game animals he hunted. I could be wrong but I understand it will not be open to the public, but may be for special invite tours.

BOB May 23, 2022 - 12:39 PM - 12:39 PM

How much tax money will he get to pay for his “museum” My bad tax money is not real money.

Concordmom May 23, 2022 - 12:43 PM - 12:43 PM

Concord NIMBY’s complaining about the most powerful NIMBY, lol. This is how capitalism works. You know he only said “museum” as a way to deduct his personal hobby from his taxes. Oh well, he who has the most toys wins.

Sneaky May 23, 2022 - 1:21 PM - 1:21 PM

Seeno as usual does whatever he wants, doesn’t care about anyone but himself. This building went in as a personal storage facility, because a museum would not be allowed in the Business Park Development Plan. Seeno fought to keep a church from opening in the Business Park because it would bring people and children to the park. His plan is to open his “Private Storage Facility”, really a museum that schools and non-profits will be able to tour, interesting that schools would mean children which he objected to with the Church. It will eventually be open to the public, which may not be a bad thing it is just how the Seeno’s break rules without a care in the world. Also those casino type murals were put up on the building in violation of the CC&Rs that govern the Business Park, he doesn’t care, he does whatever he wants…..think again say no to Seeno for the Concord Naval Weapons Developer!

Word up May 24, 2022 - 1:02 PM - 1:02 PM

This.

Martinezmike May 23, 2022 - 1:35 PM - 1:35 PM

Perhaps his taxidermy collection has gotten so large that he needs a private place to mount his stuffed animals.

Dr Jellyfinger May 23, 2022 - 7:37 PM - 7:37 PM

My dog mounts his stuffed animals and we think it’s hilarious….
Oh well…. whatever a guy wants to do in private is OK I guess, unless the perverts want to start having their own stuffed animal stuffers pride parades. That’s where I draw the line.

To Do List May 23, 2022 - 2:53 PM - 2:53 PM

For those here with the questionable judgement of wanting to see stuffed exotic animal heads, there is already Foster’s Bighorn in Rio Vista. It is a restaurant with a large collection of mounted animals on the walls from a big game hunter from long ago. I really do not recall whether the food was good or not, I think it was good, but I was too distracted being creeped out by the displays. Have fun.

Concordlady May 23, 2022 - 4:14 PM - 4:14 PM

The amount of people in the comment section that are so concerned with the way another man spends his money is seriously astonishing. Believe it or not, people are allowed to spend their money as they please and it doesn’t have to appease you or be a public attraction to you and your family. It’s genuinely not a building that is in your way nor will it affect your quality of life. Move on!

Oh, please May 23, 2022 - 9:10 PM - 9:10 PM

Totally agree. How he spends his money is different than the atrocious and unethical ways got the money in the first place. He can do whatever with his money, but this family needs to go down.

Nina May 23, 2022 - 10:08 PM - 10:08 PM

I agree

Kim May 29, 2022 - 3:47 AM - 3:47 AM

I AGREE 109%…CAN PEOPLE JUST LEAVE THE SEENO’s alone???
NONE OF THEM HAVE DONE anything TO ANY OF YOU OR anybody else, so WHY DO YOU ALL CONTINUE TO CRUCIFY THEM?? THEY ARE PEOPLE just like the rest of us…there are SO MANY OTHER THINGS & Issues that ALL OF YOUR VOICES COULD ACTUALLY HELP yet you NITPICK everything THIS MAN & his family does…get over yourselves, you could care less about what it is that’s being built ALL YOU HEAR & see is SEENO…START USING YOUR WORDS FOR THINGS THAT AFFECT REAL LIVES– homelessness is SOMTHING WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE WITH & THINK of ALL THE LIVES THAT COULD BE MADE BETTER– no PEOPLE CONTINUE TO turn a blind eye & focus on A FAMILY THAT HAS WORKED HARD & given back SO MUCH to the community they came from!!! THEY ARE LIVING THE AMERICAN DREAM– leave them alone!!!

Anonx May 23, 2022 - 4:37 PM - 4:37 PM

Oh I don’t know but it looks like a cover up to me!

Bub May 23, 2022 - 9:30 PM - 9:30 PM

Anonx, You said it right there. Seeno definitely has something more up his sleezy sleeve.
Right across and all around the Project that he was awarded for the Naval weapon station. I hope that falls through.
You all know he’s already trying to amend things on that project. He agreed to many things to get the approval from City/County Counsel’s now he’s trying to get them all to sign off and give him the deed to the land before he “sets in stone” everything he agreed to do first. Let’s see what happens and/or WHO ALL gets paid off AGAIN and he gets the land and then doesn’t comply with what was agreed upon. You All know it’s coming.

SAM May 23, 2022 - 4:47 PM - 4:47 PM

Awesome. This is great.

Anon May 23, 2022 - 5:21 PM - 5:21 PM

Oh please!!! This will ultimately be loaned or gifted to the county / city. And then Seeno will be back on the “good” side again. That’s all it takes to get the public to forget about ones past.

Winston May 23, 2022 - 6:03 PM - 6:03 PM

There should probably be more talk about how the Seenos are demanding what is essentially ownership of the CNWS land before they build anything and saying that they won’t take the city’s plan into account.

Gremlin May 23, 2022 - 6:11 PM - 6:11 PM

I, for one, am sick of the Seenos. And I sincerely hope the City of Concord does not cave to them. They do not need to have any part of the the Naval Weapons Station development. Wouldn’t it be wonderful to leave it just as it is? Our last bit of open space. Leave it for cows and trees. As for the monumental “private” building, we had been wondering for quite some time what that was going to be. Now we know, and it is really kind of sad.

Oh, please May 23, 2022 - 9:11 PM - 9:11 PM

They won’t leave it as is. The Concord folks in charge get too many kickbacks by using it and screwing us. Unethical, moronic loons, the lot of them.

SAM May 23, 2022 - 7:06 PM - 7:06 PM

Lol so many haters. Seeno has a reputation for building crap homes but it’s dang funny watching all the people upset at a guy who made bucks here build a museum. My god people, the man can spend money if he wants.

And I’m the one who has called COVID a HOAX for two years…focus your paranoia please. The WHO is about to declare war on you. Maybe use some energy on that…thanks

Cyn May 23, 2022 - 10:57 PM - 10:57 PM

@Sam

mike May 24, 2022 - 6:21 AM - 6:21 AM

local focus has more effect

Chemical Heart May 24, 2022 - 9:45 AM - 9:45 AM

How can you possibly think Covid is a hoax? Exaggerated by the media, used as a scare tactic by the government, sure! But a joke, as in fictional? You must be deaf, dumb, blind, and heartless.

SAM May 24, 2022 - 1:02 PM - 1:02 PM

Ok Mike,
Focus on the sustainable development money City of Concord takes from the UN for implementing Agenda 2021/2030/2050 and beyond. Your local government is being run by the United Nations. You WILL own nothing, and be happy complaining about a private citizen and his personal property.

SAM May 24, 2022 - 1:07 PM - 1:07 PM

Not heartless, it just doesn’t bleed out over propaganda like yours. Ukraine is definitely winning. Masks save lives. All lives matter.

WC Resident May 23, 2022 - 8:38 PM - 8:38 PM

Click on the link where it says “click on this link” above. Page 26 has a drawing of the planned layout of the museum. It has sections for dinosaurs, the ice age, native Americans, etc. The lower right corner has “Train.” As it’s between the North America and California exhibits I suspect it will be about the early years of the Transcontinental Railroad.

While it’s a private facility it may well be open to the public much like Ken Behring’s Blackhawk Museum, which also has a natural history section. Like Seeno, Ken Behring was also a big game hunter.

Jeff (the other one) May 23, 2022 - 8:47 PM - 8:47 PM

His money, he got the juice to get approval for this. Wish it were me (having the coin to be able to fund something like this).

Sunrize1 May 23, 2022 - 9:23 PM - 9:23 PM

The thought of Seeno purchasing the property for his own personal pleasure disgusts me. That space would have been better served for a new shopping center. I personally was hoping for a Trader Joe’s or Safeway. We only have Safeway on Bailey Rd. The store is over crowded, and under staffed. We are forced to drive into Concord, and or Pleasant Hill to get our grocery’s. Seeno keeps developing the area with new homes’, and apartments, They have not thought about how this effects the community over crowding issues. Were is the Middle School, and High School for these family’s?

ConcordDad May 23, 2022 - 10:24 PM - 10:24 PM

Seeno thinks he’s William randolph hearst, The house on the hill with wild animals roaming all around. This building will house all the amazing endangered animals he paid to kill and show them off. He will open it up once in a while to a school group etc so the entire thing will be a Tax write off. Think about it all his safari trips can be a write off as well. The Seenos cheat anywhere they can and once in a while they get caught and it’s always an employee doing their dirty work that goes to jail. We all know he bought off a few of Concords council members to win the contract for the NWS. Oh look good old Concord Councilman Edi now running for County Supervisor after he sold out the city of Concord. I bet he’s full funded by Mr. Hearst Junior himself. Seeno bought Pittsburg a long time ago and now he clearly owns Concord. We can all just look up at his monuments and live under his control. Can’t wait till he starts construction of his poorly built on top of each other homes so we can all be in worse traffic. Hail Seeno

Pepe May 24, 2022 - 7:09 AM - 7:09 AM

Everybody blames Seeno for all the shady deals and corruption. He could not have have done it without the help and backing of the politicians that we keep electing to office. How about we don’t vote for any incumbent this year and put new people in charge.
We have the power to make things better, but the California voters keep voting the same people back in office over and over, year after year and hope for a different outcome.

Bad Nombre May 24, 2022 - 12:25 AM - 12:25 AM

I wish to see no taxidermied Seeno.

Sam Malone May 24, 2022 - 7:57 AM - 7:57 AM

So sick of Seeno. Sleazy, sneaky and the payola he spreads to the city Councils should indicate to us who NOT TO VOTE for in the upcoming election. Get a clue folks the only way to turn things around is by a ground roots effort all the way up the feeding chain of crooks of any politicial party.

Let them know we all are not led around by the nose and the leftist media. IMHO.

Michelle May 24, 2022 - 10:16 AM - 10:16 AM

What ever Mr Seeno wants Mr Seeno gets. Guess this is a Monument to Himself to show off to others that r in his circle!

West May 24, 2022 - 11:26 AM - 11:26 AM

So this guy wants to buy this land.. build a GIANT personal storage unit for himself.. absolutely nothing to do with the community around him.. I hope this gets DESTROYED

Cyn May 24, 2022 - 11:44 AM - 11:44 AM

@West
So, you want to see the destruction of someone’s property, just because you don’t like it? Shame on you!

Anonymous May 24, 2022 - 12:04 PM - 12:04 PM

I’m no Seeno fan, but this place is filled with envious communists.

Who cares what he does with his money? He can buy an island and eat all the sea turtle eggs for all I care.

Or go baby seal clubbing in the Artic on land he bought.

America used to be the country where private property rights were almost sacrosanct.

KA925 May 24, 2022 - 12:33 PM - 12:33 PM

Leave it to the slimy Seeno’s to own and exploit native artifacts that rightfully belong to our first people, not in storage in a museum. Then to add African hunt kill to the mix, the building becomes just a sparkly monument to vile things about this country! NAGPRA repatriation does nothing to prevent scum like this from privately profiting yet again from unjust human suffering. You couldn’t pay me to support something so unethical. There is nothing “cool” about this project!

To Do List May 24, 2022 - 2:49 PM - 2:49 PM

Why is it considered wrong by some to have an opinion on Seeno’s personal museum? He did not put this in his backyard, put in another room to his house, or build in some out of the way area, but rather put it on an extremely prominent showy hill that everyone will see each time they drive the freeway. It purposely stands out with murals and a “hey look at me” design as proven by everyone wondering for months what this thing is. When someone begs for public attention, how is it negative to give it attention. He obviously wants people to notice and talk about him and paid lots of money for the attention.

Anonymous May 24, 2022 - 3:35 PM - 3:35 PM

After reading the document included at the link in the OP, this private museum appears to be very similar to Blackhawk Museum, just on a smaller scale and not open to the public for now. It has at least two dining rooms and kitchens and viewing rooms. My guess is they will selectively rent it for events at some point and may even open it to the public at some point.

And like the Blackhawk Museum, it has African and Old West rooms, with the latter heavily focused on Native American artifacts.

Why aren’t some here calling for the burning of the Blackhawk Museum?

Cathy May 25, 2022 - 9:44 AM - 9:44 AM

My first guess when the painting was done and with the circular glass front it was going to be a movie theatre. If it is going to be available for events at some point, we do need more nice venues for celebrations and such in Central Contra Costa.
