Look at those prices at the old Smorgy Boys restaurant in Concord’s Park-N-Shop shopping center on Willow Pass Rd.
The buffet was a hit for many families, for many years.
Do you remember Smorgy Boys? (didn’t people also call it Smorgy Bobs?)

smorg… bob’s for me…
maybe the boy’s & bob’s were competitors?
I’ll do some research later…
so far…. seems Smorgy Boys and Smorga Bob’s had no relation…. But that’s only after my first cup…
Cup 2 is near,,,, If I find different, I’ll let ya know…
That’s right. It was Smorgy Boys then Smorga Bob’s. Two different businesses I recall. Our family would go there periodically to feast.
Ate there many times in the late 70’s early 80’s after football practice, only god knows how many calories a high school boy could consume at a place like this, with a visit to Chick’s Donuts earlier in the morning for a couple of maple bars (25 cents). Nobody can convince me that life was not better then.
@CHRIS….custard filled maple bars for me…..a growing boy needs his sugar.
Wow! What year was this from? I didn’t know the price it was to eat there.
We lived in Martinez/Pleasant Hill.
My Dad rarely took us out to Concord, or anywhere to eat.
But once every 6 months, he took our Family of 7 out there to feast.
My favorite was the Beef Wellington
Just go back 20 years and see how much dining out prices have risen.
I was more of a House of Pies guy.
@DR. JELLYFINGER….The waitresses at HoP in their outfits were pretty easy on the eyes there, made the pie taste a whole lot better.
I loved Anna Miller’s for the same reasons.
I knew all those girls…. but I thought the pie was pretty good anyway.
I remember chicken and jello.
Love it.hope to see more.
Don’t want to date myself but my parents took us kids there back in the 60’s. Was my first exposure to a buffet style meal with all you could eat. Good memories. I think Smorgy Boys, Straw Hat Pizza and Jerry’s Hamburgers in Pleasant Hill were the restaurants I remember going to as a kid.
Oh, yes, I remember this restaurant, it was a family treat to dine there growing up in Concord. Thanks for the good memories.
