The following is from the Antioch Police Department:

On January 26 at approximately 10:00 pm, Officer Downie attempted a traffic enforcement stop on Sycamore Drive in Antioch.

The vehicle made the mistake of refusing to stop for the emergency lights and siren.

The vehicle was pursued into Oakley, and the driver ultimately stopped at the Arco Gas Station located at 4501 Main Street in Oakley.

The driver was taken into custody with the assistance of Oakley Police Officers. There were also two passengers in the vehicle that were released.

The driver had prior felony convictions and a search of the vehicle revealed he was in possession of the two pictured firearms, an AR-15 and a Glock handgun. He was booked into county jail for multiple firearms related charges and evading arrest, since he decided not to pull over when Officer Downie conducted the traffic enforcement stop.

We want our community to know we are dedicated to reducing gun violence and will continue to do proactive work to get illegal firearms off the street. We also want to thank the Oakley Police Department for their assistance in taking these subjects into custody and their continued effort at being a surrounding city that helps when we need it.

Surprise prior felonies! These people live among us. This is the way to stop gun violence, get these people in jail! Just think, they’ll need to have insurance in the future which will make the community safer….

Applause and thanks to LE, in my opinion we could never spend enough to help fund the police, crimes trickle down effect cost so much more

Criminals using guns is the problem. Not honest citizens. Enforce existing laws and throw these people in jail never to be released to the community.

Prior felony convictions, NO surprise there.
Sycamore Drive, the fruit of high density housing, where you never venture after dark.
You’d think antioch would have learned by now, high density housing increases likely hood of crime.
Same thing goes in allowing small square footage single family residences on postage stamp sized lots.

It must be frustrating, these days, to be a police officer. They risk their lives to protect citizens from criminals; while the Democrat government(and those that put them into office) strives to support and enable criminals.

Anyone out there wondering why our roads are a crazy free-for-all? And why traffic laws are no longer enforced? Id be willing to bet it’s because our local law enforcement agencies are very busy chasing all the criminals that are running wild in our once safe communities.
p.s. A vote for liberal Democrat politicians is a vote for out of control rampant crime.
