DEM controlled congress passed Community Mental Health Act, last bill JFK signed into law.
When will congress fix damage done to America Oct. 31, 1963 ? ? ?
.
DEM congress decided to shove mental health care down onto the “LOCAL LEVEL”.
Subsequent congresses failed to follow thru on funding leaving us with what we have today. Federal government forces our first responders to repeatedly deal with the mentally ill.
Mentally ill homeless roaming our streets until such time as they commit a crime serious enough to warrant incarceration. As a result jails and prisons have become largest providers on mental health services in America.
.
congressman FIX damage done to America by 1963 Community Mental Health Act.

Perhaps he should hold this meeting at Target in front of the LGBTQ children’s department. That’s a mental health discussion that needs to happen.

Addiction, technology and social media… Believe those last two topics they are scheming to start taxing in the name of mental health treatment funding.

3. Enforce the border.
4. Implement conservatorships.
5. Do not tolerate homeless’ uncivilized behavior. Have standards.

Whaddya mean? They’ve got double standards!

Example – when they have a liberal majority on SCOTIS, they’re happy. When there’s a conservative majority, they’re screaming for more liberal justices or want to increase the number of justices.

I will NEVER trust a democrat/liberal.

NEVER!

Except of course for criminals(legal system confused citizenry), illegal aliens(border challenged persons), welfare lifers(motivation and self pride challenged individuals), and those that believe that workers must give away the fruit of their labors to despots who think they know better.
p.s. I hope I got the progressive woke terminology right.

I think that subject and mental health problems will dovetail nicely.

THE BLACK KNIGHT May 23, 2023 - 11:47 PM - 11:47 PM

Mark,
.
YOU ARE PART OF THE PROBLEM, YOU AREN’T PART OF THE SOLUTION!!! When you chose to jump on the “OPIOID EPIDEMIC” bandwagon, you caused millions, upon millions, of Americans into a “MENTAL HEALTH CRISIS.”
.
When you jumped on the “OPIOID EPIDEMIC” bandwagon, you made it clear to your constituents, THAT YOU ONLY VALUE THE LIVES OF DRUG ABUSERS AND DRUG ADDICTS, AND THAT THE LIVES OF THE 50+ MILLION (CDC NUMBERS) AMERICANS THAT SUFFER FROM CHROIC AND DEBILITATING PAIN ON A DAILY BASIS, HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO VALUE WHATSOEVER IN YOUR EYES!!!
.
As a result of elected office holders, such as yourself, jumping on the “OPIOID EPIDEMIC” bandwagon, CAUSED THE CDC TO DEVELOP “PRESCRIPTION OPIOID GUIDELINES,” MUCH FLAWED “GUIDELINES,” THAT RESULTED IN AMERICANS WITH A LEGITIMATE NEED AND USE FOR PRESCRIPTION OPIOIDS, HAVING THEIR PRESCRIPTIONS OPIOIDS SEVERLY REDUCED, OR EVER WORSE, RESCINDED, REVOKED, AND TERMINATED ALTOGETHER!!!
.
THE AFTERMATH OF THE “CDC OPIOID GUIDELINES,” THAT YOUR ACTIONS HELPED CREATE AND THAT YOU SUPPORTED, FORCED MILLIONS OF AMERICANS INTO “MENTAL HEALTH CRISIS’,” FORCING THOSE AMERICANS WITH LEGITIMATE NEEDS AND USES FOR PRESCRIPTION OPIOIDS INTO SELF-MEDICATING, ACQUIRING BLACK MARKET PRESCRIPTION OPIOIDS, ACQUIRING HEROIN OR OTHER ILLEGAL DRUGS, AND CHOOSING SUICIDE.
.
So Mark, are you proud of YOURSELF?
Are you proud that you forced Americans out of the care of doctors and into self-medicating?
Are you proud that you forced Americans suffering from chronic and debilitating pain into the prescription drug blackmarket and illegal drug market?
Are you proud that you forced Americans into choosing suicide over life, just as your father chose suicide?
How does it feel knowing that you helped drive millions of Americans into a mental health crises?
How does it feel to be responsible for needlessly causing people to suffer from physical and mental pain, and causing the deaths of other Americans?

2centsworth May 24, 2023 - 4:00 PM - 4:00 PM

Some interesting points I was unaware of. To blame one person for the opioid crisis is absurd though. To attack someone’s personal loss is just callous and mean-spirited.

ALL CAPS? Really?

THE BLACK KNIGHT May 25, 2023 - 9:35 PM - 9:35 PM

2CENTSWORTH,
.
I don’t blame one person for the “opioid epidemic.” I do however blame Congressman Mark DeSaulnier for making it worse, because his policies and actions have in fact made things worse.
.
I didn’t attack someone’s personal loss. It’s the policies and actions of Congressman Mark DeSaulnier that have driven Americans with a legitimate need and use for prescription opioids that can no longer get these prescription opioids and have chosen suicide instead of living in pain. I mearly pointed out that his actions have driven Americans living with chronic and debilitating pain to suicide, which is odd, considering his father committed suicide. If you weren’t aware, Mark has been quite open with his father’s suicide, and speaks about it often. His father was a corrupt Judge from Massachusetts that got caught, he also suffered from addictions to alcohol and gambling.
.
Yes, really, ALL CAPS. I’m angry with Congressman Mark DeSaulnier because he’s chosen addicts over legitimate users of prescription opioid. I’ve personally dealt with a family member suffering from chronic debilitating pain that’s now bedridden because pain management doctors are no longer prescribing opioids for pain because they fear the CDC, DEA, and FDA. Mark has contributed to this problem. Myself and other family members have spoken with Mark personally on multiple occasions. He offered one remedy that the doctors laughed at. Mark could’ve begun to change his position everytime he’s spoken about the “opioid epidemic” by recognizing and saying that millions of Americans have a legitimate need and use for these prescription opioids, that no longer have access to them, and as a result they’ve suffered needlessly, turned to illegal opioids, and suicide, and that the current policy regarding prescription opioids needs to be reversed for those with legitimate needs. He hasn’t done that, because he doesn’t care about Americans that suffer from chronic pain, he ONLY CARES about DRUG ABUSERS and DRUG ADDICTS!!! I find that unacceptable!!!

The complete book title—-correctly defines the times we are living in. “”The Age of Indulgence.” Like all faculty (and department leaders) at the Univ. level…her books are required reading and discounted a tiny bit at the campus bookstore..

DeSaulnier’s gonna pretend he understands it🙄
