Four measures on the Contra Costa County ballot in Tuesday’s election all appeared headed for approval as of early Wednesday morning.

Martinez’s Measure A, which seeks to change the office of city clerk to an appointed rather than elected position, had 3,819 yes votes to 1,875 no votes.

Measure B, which asked voters if they wanted the Antioch Unified School District to issue $195 million in bonds for school improvements, was narrowly ahead with 5,487 yes votes to 4,301 no votes. The proposal would levy a property tax of $48 per $100,000 assessed value of residents’ homes and its 56.06% yes votes were narrowly ahead of the 55% needed for approval.

Measure C asked voters if they supported renewing an annual $75 parcel tax for eight years for the Martinez Unified School District. The yes votes were up 3,240 to 1,202 no votes.

California’s Prop 1 is also slightly ahead. And people are aghast that they can’t afford to live here. Thank you brain-dead voters.

Booyah!,
.
The margin for Proposition 1 is down to fewer than 15,000 votes, so hopefully enough votes can be found to defeat this proposition.

Proposition 1 is a 30 year bond. You will be paying for it in your Property Tax bill for the next 30 years.

I’m not cool with allowing everyone to vote to raise taxes only on property owners. It just pits renters against homeowners.

Keep throwing money at the same issues (especially homelessness). Definition of Insanity- doing the same thing and expecting different results.

I don’t recall voting yes on any ballot measure in CA.

I do not trust the government in this state.

Or any other state for that matter.

This state spends (mis-spends) the billions it collects (steals) in tax revenue and wants more. It’s priorities don’t match mine and haven’t for years. It want to use taxpayer money to abolish parental rights, the rights of the unborn, victims rights, property rights, and rights of religious people while elevating the rights of criminals, illegal immigrants, homeless, and Marxist ideologues. It is one party rule and has disenfranchised those with different viewpoints.
