Tyler, my name is Patrick Rule. I run Pacific Instruments @ 4080 Pike Lane. We had a very similar incident last night around the same time. I’m guessing you and I are not the only targets. Please contact me at Patrick.Rule@VPGSensors.com if you would like to discuss this. We have video as well, but I have not seen it yet as I am out of town. We have contacted the police.

Tyler just my opinion as a property owner that’s been through this a couple of times. Most likely car was stolen, but car was insured, eventually the police will identify the car and find it. Once they do you can get that information and file a claim against the car insurance.

If just storefront damage I would pay for it out of pocket as commercial insurance is harder and harder to obtain.

Good luck!

What? It was intentional, a criminal act, and a stolen car. Auto insurance does not apply, even if the owner did the crime.

Need concealed cameras at eye level for facial recognition and plate reading.
There are cctv software packages that will alarm if a vehicle or person gets with in so many feet.
Hopefully law enforcement can review Flock cameras nearby for plate numbers.
Personally I’d be tempted to set up 10 foot chunk of 6 inch steel pipe pendulum in line with door,
but with lawyers now days, can’t do it.
.
If caught will DA even bother ? ? ?

Seems they have a fleet (of stolen?) cars or maybe there are free cars given away at the border (wouldn’t be surprised). Looks like a scene out of “Idiocracy.” 🙄

You can run plates for make model for free through Carfax “personal maintenance” section and it came back as a Chrysler 200 with 80k miles so it’s a stolen plate. Reported to Concord pd regardless. The only reason they didn’t get further is because there’s a 8000lb forklift parked 2 feet inside the door. We will be inching that a bit closer now along with some extra security!

Outstanding, 8000lb of deterrence, that explains why they gave up.

Agreed as there were at last five people involved they seemed to be expecting to hit a dispensary. Maybe they thought the HSD Engineering signs and web site were a smoke screen for smokes? The point guy takes a look with a flashlight once they had the door partially open and quickly does not see evidence that it’s whatever they were after or maybe heard an alarm chirping and realizes they don’t have time. They were driving smaller cars, clearly not planning on taking large pieces of equipment. They were amateurs, both in the method of entry and lack of planning.

They come across as morons. Like a Guy Ritchie movie scene.

It is exceedingly odd they went through this effort and did not steal anything. We run an electronic repair business with highly specified equipment that I guess did not appear easy for resale?

You are not dealing with highly educated “archcriminals” here. It’s a smash and grab. Speed is of the essence not finesse.

I’m sure your original post of not being a marijuana grow operation is your explanation for why they left empty handed. It’s one thing to sling marijuana on the block, it’s another to transport and then fence highly specialized equipment that I would assume comes with a very highly specialized and limited resale customer base of likewise professionals such as yourself.

What they found is likely not what they expected…

Stolen Car doing the ramming no doubt as nobody who cares about their sedan would do that. Same typical situation – agree – seems pointless. There are a lot of bad people and criminals out there and all we can do is comment. Nobody is going to do anything, and until that changes, all we get is frustration.

Similar thing happened to a jewelry store in san Ramon. the owner put these big concrete flower pots around the front entrance. that did the trick.

Funny, a friend and I were just discussing yesterday how civil society really seems to be deteriorating. It’s alarming, it’s saddening!
And I got to say that it seems that the democrat party is the one mainly pushing it. They say they’re for the people but they’re not for us honest, good hard-working average people.
There for all the dregs ,crazies and criminals .. that’s who they promote and advance.

Change the channel. Democrats do NOT promote crime. We are honest, hard-working people who practice empathy.

I have zero empathy for the people in this video.

I do have a lot of empathy for those who are working hard to make a living and support their family but have to deal with 20% cumulative inflation since 2021!

See, they need to sell commercial, and they need sheep to watch. They are all lying to you. Both parties suck and don’t give a hoot about you, the voter, they only want power and money.
