DIRTY DINING: Health Inspectors Find Rodent Infestation At San Ramon Food, Gas & Liquors

San Ramon Food Gas & Liquors, located at 2108 San Ramon Valley Blvd. in San Ramon, was shut down on March 25 after inspectors from the Contra Costa County Department of Environmental Health say they found the following during a complaint inspection.

  • 2 rodent droppings in cardboard Grey Goose display next to bottles on sales floor near counter
  • 5-10 rodent droppings observed on counter under cigarette display behind counter
  • 1 rodent dropping on top of hot water heater
  • 1 rodent dropping on floor between wall and walk-in refrigerator
  • 30-40 rodent droppings on floor under shelving in back hallway
  • 10-15 rodent droppings in corner on desk in office
  • 1 rodent dropping on shelf underneath desk in corner of office
  • 2 rodent droppings on wall mounted shelf in office along back wall
  • In addition, paw prints were observed in the dust on most shelves in the main sales area of facility

The store has since been reinspected and reopened.

Well the last thing we need is rats drinking Vodka and smoking in that part of town!

It’s ok, liquor and beer are sterile. I’ll just have to avoid licking the outside of the bottles.

Convenience stores also serve fresh food, like hot dogs, donuts, coffee, and burritos. That is why they are inspected.

inspection”. Looks like they were ratted out
in more ways than one.
