Cooler temperatures are expected in the Bay Area this weekend with a chance of some places seeing isolated showers Friday night, according to the National Weather Service.

In the North Bay, highs are expected to be below normal Friday and Saturday with the possibility of isolated showers Friday night into Saturday.

Rainfall amounts are expected to be light with less than a tenth of an inch of rain. However, that will shift early next week when high temperatures are expected to reach the mid 80s to upper 90s.

In coastal areas and along the Bay, temperatures will be near-to-slightly-below normal with the possibility of isolated showers along the Sonoma and Marin coasts Friday night into Saturday. Warmer temperatures
are expected early next week with highs in the upper 60s to around 80 degrees.

For Bay Area residents who live inland, rain is not in the forecast. High temperatures Friday and Saturday will dip into the mid-70s and low 80s, with high temperatures warming up to the low-to-mid-90s by Monday.

This thing called climate change isn’t so bad after all, I’m really enjoying it.

It’ll be interesting to see how things play out this year as we are in a solar minimum cycle which may rain on the parade of those who want to control the public through climate change fear. 😉

In most years it’s been normal to have a mild cold front pass through around July. Just enough to produce measurable rainfall, followed by clean air and cumulus clouds.

I think we are on for an early autumn. Our redwood trees typically do a seasonal shedding of some old needles, starting in mid-August, followed by a burst of new growth of needles and little pine cones. This year the process started a month early in mid-July. Our 2 stone pine trees also set on beautiful new needle growth around that time. Apple trees and fig trees loaded with fruit after getting almost no fruit from our 2 cherry trees.

Mary, would you please post a recipe for fig bars if you have one handy?
Side note: Our neighbor’s line of beautiful Redwood trees is shedding leaves for the second time this summer. (I’m thinking the first shedding might have been because we had some high winds in July?)
