Bay Area’s Stay-At-Home Order In Effect Until At Least Jan.8, State Officials Say

by CLAYCORD.com

State stay-at-home orders will remain in effect in the Bay Area until at least Jan. 8 with potential to extend depending on intensive care unit capacity projections, state health officials said Saturday.

The state’s stay-at-home order is triggered when a region’s average ICU capacity falls below 15 percent.

The Bay Area’s current ICU capacity is at 5.1 percent, according to the California Department of Public Health.

The San Joaquin Valley, southern California and greater Sacramento regions remain under the stay-at-home orders because their four-week ICU capacity projections do not meet the capacity to exit the order, the department said.
The available capacity in the greater Sacramento region is 6.9 percent, while the San Joaquin Valley and southern California regions are down to 0 percent, according to the department.

The health department said California has 2,345,909 confirmed cases to date.

A total of 335,983 vaccine doses have been administered statewide. As of Monday, a total of 1,762,900 vaccine doses have been distributed to local health departments and health care systems that have facilities in multiple counties.

All this COVID-19 action has had little effect on my day-to-day lifestyle. I usually do not go to restaurants, work from home, no kids in schools, don’t own a business, etc. I feel for those who have incurred significant impacts. All these stay at home orders yet I still go everywhere I still want to go.

Marco January 3, 2021 - 6:20 PM - 6:20 PM

The only thing different in any way from the start of this farce in my life is wearing a mask when i’m forced to so I can buy food. Not one thing in my life has changed other than going to stores very late that have all changed their hours.I have ignored this in practicality and just lived my life and endured the carbon monoxide headaches from quick store visits, only because the wet weather because all year i visited the store on my motorcycle and never once wore a mask(helmet) and loved seeing the confused and sometime angry looks from people..You can tell the ones that arent on board with this. They still have a surgical mask they got 9 months ago and wont spend a penny on this ridiculousness. The only change in my life is the masks are taking a toll on my health,I already hav a breathing problem and i now wake up with the same headache I went to bed wit, telling me it’s really doing some damage.Carbon monoxide is poison. This is happening to alot of people over 50.

Gittyup January 3, 2021 - 11:01 PM - 11:01 PM

@Marco One breathes in Oxygen and breathes out Carbon Dioxide.
Carbon Monoxide is what cars produce in exhaust fumes, and breathing too much of it can be fatal.

Rebreathing Carbon Dioxide, as one does when wearing a mask combined with the reduced Oxygen availability, can be bothersome for some people. You might try a different kind of mask. I’ve found some to be more comfortable to wear than others.

I still go where I want and do what I want to do.I wear my mask and clean my hands. This stay at home crap is all about controlling us.I don’t believe the real truth is being told.

Ilovepopcorn January 3, 2021 - 11:57 AM - 11:57 AM

It only means don’t have family gatherings,or be out of your bubble, don’t travel, and follow the protocols. I do all of that. I still have to go out for essentials. Masked up, wash hands. Then I shelter in place in my cozy home. I watch tv on my 65 inch, cook delicious food, talk to my friends on the phone. Live stream TicTok and FB. I need to pick up my painting. We can’t go to studio or art classes. That is what I miss. I sure hope these anti vaccine folks will change their minds otherwise we will continue to be prisoners of the pandemic stupidity.

Ilovepopcorn January 3, 2021 - 12:06 PM - 12:06 PM

You don’t believe in the doctors or medical community? You think the bad old Government wants to control us and keep the truth away. Way to go! Wow! That is hilarious and sad all at once. Unbelievable to me that most people here in Claycord Land are vertically off the rails. I suppose you are the Trumpies not the GOP. I feel afraid the good old Proud Boys have sunk in your brains and hearts. I wonder if Mr. Claycord will allow this post. If they do I would be surprised. Have a good day in Claycord Land!

Nobodys doing it Popcorn
Youre just such a good citizen
You dont wear a mask and think its hilarious that they force people to wear one in a store and you never leave your condo
I head the crime rate and domestic violence have gone up in Rossmore,I wonder why?Stir crazy?

Gittyup January 3, 2021 - 4:07 PM - 4:07 PM

If you go out, you can’t tell anything is different except that most prople in the stores are wearing masks. There are actually now more prople shopping at all three of my local grocery stores, Monday through Friday, than there ever were before the pandemic. Somedays, it’s even hard to get a parking space. The Post Office was full. The bank was full. UPS was full. Went to Target one day and it was crowded with people, as usual. You certainly can’t tell from the traffic on the streets, or the numbers of people you see out and about. If people are staying home they are definitely in the minority.

Chicken Little January 3, 2021 - 4:16 PM - 4:16 PM

I still go to work every day, just like I have since the whole stay-at-home thing started in March. I wear a mask where I’m required to, and don’t wear one where I’m not.

Other than that, I pretty much do whatever and go wherever I want.

ZZ January 3, 2021 - 4:44 PM - 4:44 PM

@Popcorn still thinks her boyfriend Newsom just “made a mistake” having an unmasked, 1foot apart dinner with medical personnel and others. She also thinks the only people that don’t believe this farce are only on Claycord or are Trump supporters. The rest of the world is going along with it. She is the hilarious/sad one.

Contra Costa’s health department website says the Stay At Home Order was placed on 12/16. It was going to be in effect until at least 1/7 (3 weeks). The state heath officials might as well have said it’s going to be extended indefinitely rather than saying it’ll be until at least the 1/8.

chuckie the troll January 3, 2021 - 11:29 AM - 11:29 AM

Well, we didn’t stay home or even in California. If enough people break Newsom’s order they will need to release a lot more murderers and rapists to house all of us.

Will January 3, 2021 - 11:37 AM - 11:37 AM

The stay at home orders will never end unless and until Comrade Gavin is forcibly escorted from office.

Russ Sayin January 3, 2021 - 11:38 AM - 11:38 AM

My question is this: The restaurants were shut down weeks before this current spike in ICU happened, so why are we closing down outdoor dining?
Me having a pizza with the same few friends i’ve always hung out with isn’t the reason the ICUs are full.
Also, is CoCo county ICU below the threshold possibly because we have/had open beds and patients were brought here from San Joaquin County (for example)?

Yogurt January 3, 2021 - 4:09 PM - 4:09 PM

The surge is because of indoor gatherings without masks or distance and indoor dining at restaurants. Plus outdoor was fine except the restaurants that set up tents and had no air movement with fresh air.

While we do good here, it’s painfully obvious most people in this state/country can’t handle the responsibility of wearing masks, keeping distance and washing hands. It’s sad.

Marco January 4, 2021 - 5:03 AM - 5:03 AM

‘while we do good here”
what are you talking about?
If you would go get your shot soon we wouldn’t hear you comment anymore,or anyone getting the shot.
Their time will be short.

If anyone believes that the stay at home orders will end anytime soon, well, there in for a surprise.

The government has complete control over a great many of the people.

They will never relinquish that control.

At least until enough freedom loving people take back control.

I am so astounded at this information I just saw on the Western Journal. I feel sorry for the deaths brought on by covid…and not on purpose , BUT did you know that in the article that based on current numbers, it would take23 years of this sort of covid activity we’ve seen this year to kill the same number we killed this year alone via abortion. (twitter) (over 350,000 x 23) And on purpose. They showed a photo of the chair you sit back in and all the other equipment like a dentist chair. And this is just down the street from us. What an outrage! And WE LET this sort of thing go on. strange. Maybe it’s all about OURSELVES. sOMEDAY WE ALL HAVE TO STAND BEFORE gOD(god)Capital G Good God. Everyone of us has a resposibility to be a part of making things right. It is time todo our part… first of all to pray and then turn around..

Anne Ronan January 3, 2021 - 2:36 PM - 2:36 PM

Where are you getting your numbers from. The last numbers I saw showed annual number of abortions in US are under 900,000, and the number has been decreasing for years, so I cannot imagine that it somehow grew more than 700% this year.. Someone’s math is way, way wrong.

Marco January 3, 2021 - 2:11 PM - 2:11 PM

All orders being in effect pertain to weather or not Trump remains, and we all know it.
Get ready for 4 more years of masks,or do you want to live in communist China?
Who knows what secrets the Bidens sold to them?

Anonymous January 3, 2021 - 3:54 PM - 3:54 PM

So several studies have shown that there are people who experience extreme psychosis months after recovery and people who end up having strokes or other issues.

You don’t know how it will effect you later if at all. I hope it doesn’t but there are 330k people who weren’t as lucky as you and approximately 10% of all infections have long term issues.

But since you were ok, we should forget all the rules right?

Raiderette January 3, 2021 - 5:08 PM - 5:08 PM

No one seems to be staying home and those who are shut down are either defying orders or working under cover. To which I don’t blame them and 100 percent support them as they have bills to pay since BernieM, Joe Blo or Popcorn won’t pay there bills let alone support them.

So does everybody here. You must be jealous to make up lies. All of us get go out sensibly. I hope you chill out and behave. Don’t be a spreader or you and I will be deader!

Ive heard the covid rate is soaring in Rossmore because nobody thinks they need to wear a mask

Cyn January 3, 2021 - 6:50 PM - 6:50 PM

@Yogurt
Many of those poor folks out of the 330k you mentioned DID NOT die of the China virus, but rather of gunshot wounds, stabbings, cancer, and automobile/motorcycle accidents. I hope you don’t think for one second that they were all China virus deaths just because that’s how they are being reported.

I’m very disappointed. I was praying this all mighty order from our King to his serfs would have at least been all month. You know how these bureaucrats/politicians love to tease you with a week here and 10 days there. In reality we all know what’s coming down the road and that is a continuous extension. They’ll blame it on the ICU capacity blah…blah…blah…Expect this to go through February. Only the brain-dead believe it will end January 8.

Marco January 4, 2021 - 5:04 AM - 5:04 AM

Jan 8th,because Jan 6th would look to obvious.

Marco January 4, 2021 - 5:16 AM - 5:16 AM

Catching the fake flu or wearing a mask are 2 completely unrelated events that have no effect on one or the other.
The mask is merely a sign telling people to believe a govt lie and keep it in your face.
They couldnt have have come up with a more in your face idea.
You can moan for years that if people would just wear a mask this will all go a away, but the govt knows that no society is %100 on anything so they let the maskers just keep this going forever, and try to blame those not wearing while theyre at home or outside, makes people in general cath something from you that you never had to begin with.
4 years of more masks,Biden didnt win so the masks are here to stay.even if he did win, masks eveywhere and no life.
Good one liberals.

No Koolaid 4 Me January 4, 2021 - 6:47 AM - 6:47 AM

As someone who has traveled this country and Mexico this last year with literally zero regard other than to wear a mask only when “mandated”, eating at many restaurants (inside and out), visiting bars, and even attending large gathering indoor events with 200+ people (all without masks) all I can say is many of my friends did in fact get Covid, and all survived. Same ole stories you hear – couldn’t taste/smell, headache, body ache, but not as bad as the flu. I was exposed many many times, and apparently it wasn’t my time to get it, yet. It obviously is worse for the sick, elderly, diabetics and obese.

To shut down a country, with zero alternatives given, (other than a whopping $600 for the last 9mo), is absolutely insane. Our rulers know there is no “Death Bug” out there, just look at their actions. They tell us don’t go out, shelter, and shut our world down, while they wine, dine and vacation – on OUR dime!

Covid is real, yes. It’s contagious, and can be as deadly as Influenza and other SARS/Corona related viruses, that are, and always will be with us. Remember, Covid 19 is the SEVENTH strain of the virus, and we didn’t shut the world down for the previous 6.

And stop with the vaccine dream PuLeeeze. We’ve had a flu vaccine for decades. Why is it, every year, we have a special season just for it? You’ve been lied to, now it’s time to wake up and put your big boy pants on and stop living in fear.

If you are a business owner, please, open your doors, you have the people’s support. Earn a living, it’s our constitutional right.

Marco: Knock off the lies. Everyone here in my hood,( Rossmoor) happen to be very proactive about wearing masks. If you came here without a mask, Securitas would be on you in a matter of minutes. So that is your second lie, and your third, is that COVID is here. We have 10,000 residents and maybe we had about four cases earlier last year at the Waterford. So that is your third lie. If I were you I would educate myself to see the truth. You brag about not following the protocols. Do you not care about the medical community or the rest of your community? You seem to be very immature and love to not follow the rules like a rebellious thirteen old.
