The following information is from the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office:
41-year-old Clayton resident Daniel Paul pleaded guilty to unlawfully communicating with a minor for the purposes of engaging in sex. Pursuant to the plea agreement, Paul was sentenced to 120 days in county jail, probation and will be required to register as a sex offender.
In early May 2020, investigators from the County’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force learned Paul had been the subject of an investigation in a foreign country, in which Paul distributed harmful material to a person he believed to be a minor. The investigation led agents to begin talking with Paul via text message and soon after contacting him, Paul began to attempt to entice what he believed to be a 14-year-old girl into meeting with him for sex.
On May 20, 2020, Paul went to Hidden Lakes Park in Martinez with the intention of engaging in sex acts with a minor. He was taken into custody and booked at the Martinez Detention Facility. A search of his vehicle revealed he brought condoms and alcohol to the meeting.

So is he allowed to live in the county or city? I know his house is within 2000 feet of a school which is illegal for him to live in according to state law.
Actually I’m wrong. Good ol’ California that it was wrong that they couldn’t live where they wanted and found it unconstitutional to prevent them from living close to schools and parks. Greeeaaat.

It’s such a lenient sentence. He had money, a good lawyer, and he’ll do it again. His desire won’t stop. He needs to be put away for a long time till he’s either beat up or finds God
figures he would be a mask wearer!
There is only one cure for people who exploit children for sex.
120 days in County Jail sounds like a great plea deal to me.
With increased number of Felons that used to do to state prison time serving their sentences at County level, Jails have become rather dangerous places. Wouldn’t surprise me they delayed press release until he was out. Last thing county needs is another in custody death.
