Fire Weather Watch Issued For Sacramento, San Joaquin Counties

National Weather Service Sacramento issued a Fire Weather Watch over portions of the Sacramento and northern San Joaquin valleys as well as the lower foothills that will last from Sunday to Tuesday.

The agency said unseasonably dry fuels combined with gusty winds and low humidity will bring the potential for critical weather conditions.

Expected north winds will be from 15 to 20 mph with gusts from 25 to 40 mph. The minimum daytime humidity will range from 9 to 18 percent.

The weather service is asking the public to avoid creating outdoor sparks and practice fire weather safety.

Quiz, have dead trees from Paradise / Camp fire in 2018 been removed ?
As of end of March 2021 roughly 90,000 hazardous trees still needed to be removed.

Is estimated there are, going into 2021 fire season, 147 million dead trees in Sierra Nevada mountains. Lumber prices are at historic levels.
CA and FEDs need to get out of the way and streamline tree harvesting.
CA needs to prioritize putting loggers and saw mills back to work in CA.

Nice thing about tribal reservations unlike CA, tree huggers, enviro wackos lawsuits and politicians can’t dictate wild lands / forestry management.
