Too late Randy. The investigation is already complete.

Careless smoker tossed a butt out the window.
Investigation complete.

Bingo! Happens almost every year along that stretch. Cigarette gets tossed and the wind blows it into the grass.

There was another one early this morning on the vegetation that is growing up the backside of the Safeway that is on Kirkerpass near Clayton Rd.

My guess is that it was the homeless folks who live along the creek tunnel under YV/KP.

Fire bug? June 9, 2021 - 6:51 PM - 6:51 PM

Night before last, fire at Kirkwood and Kirker Pass, yesterday, behind Safeway, today, Ygnacio Valley Road…. I hope we don’t have a firebug 😞

…. Safeway employee told me today that CCC Fire told the employees it was in the homeless mini-camp behind the store… easy to connect the dots but is anybody doing anything about it? nooooooooooo 🙁

If you decide to ruin your health smoking tobacco, use the ash tray in your car-if it still has one. I’ve seen idiots toss their cigarettes out their car window and continue to drive without knowing the consequences that result. Was very windy today and did see all the fire trucks and traffic.
I gave smoking up 40 years ago at Crogans (RIP) New Year’s Eve in Walnut Creek and it’s the best decision I made.
This fire season is going to be real bad. Don’t be the cause.

I saw a fire vehicle racing up Bancroft toward Ygnacio. Since people wouldn’t get out of the way and blocked them at the next traffic light, they actually jumped the median into the opposing lane to keep moving. A couple minutes later two additional trucks one after the other were forced to jump across the median also.

Their lights and sirens were really quite obvious. It’s amazing to me when people are so oblivious to their surroundings.

These thoughtless drivers are so afraid of having someone pull ahead of them up the line that they refuse to pull to side(right or left) to accommodate the access by emergency vehicle(s)!!
Maybe by being obstructive they get home and find it was their home that needed the attention of the fire coverage!

Sorry folks, I was using my ashtray but my cigarette caught my mask on fire and I had to throw my mask out the window. Maybe the hole I cut in my mask to smoke my cigarette wasn’t such a good idea…who would have thought?

Why should senseless, self absorbed drivers pay attention to emergency vehicles as they seem to think any and all streets and highways are their personal raceways. Just wait one day when they or someone they care about needs help. But that would require a brain to figure that one out.

I pary for our emergency personnel every day as they put their lives at risk against a majority of idiots in our society now days.

There was a big Bumfire in Antioch today just a little while ago … about 1pm.
Several rusty shopping carts and blue plastic tarps were destroyed along with piles of other assorted junk. Loss was estimated .at + $27 compared to the cost of taking it to the dump vs burning it all.
